General Electric and Comcast agreed to agree on the value of NBC Universal at $30 billion, according to wire reports. If the acquisition deal between the two companies takes place, Comcast would own 51%. GE currently owns an 80% stake, while Vivendi owns the other 20% and has the power to veto the potential transaction. Sunday night’s season three finale of AMC’s Mad Men at 10p increased its viewership over the second season concluding episode to 2.3 million total viewers (up +33%). Sunday’s finale also delivered 1.2 million A25-54 impressions and 1.1 million A18-49 impressions. On November 30, A&E Network premieres back-to-back new seasons of Intervention at 9p followed by a sophomore season of Hoarders at 10p. The eighth season of Intervention, produced for A&E by GRB, relates stories of people confronting their deepest fears and receiving help through intervention and specialists Jeff Van Vonderen and Candy Finningan. Season two of Hoarders, produced for A&E by Screaming Flea Productions, documents profiles of extreme hoarders and how their disorder affects their lives and those around them. Univision and Todobebe Inc. are bringing back the family series Viva la Familia! de Todobebe (Hooray for Families! from Todobebe) for a second season starting November 21. The one-hour program airs on the weekends, combining laughs, entertainment, reality segments, interactivity and more. Returning characters include the Fairy Godmother “Mi Hada Madrina” who grants the wishes of deserving viewers; Todobebe experts help parents with problems found using hidden cameras; in addition to the comedic father segment called “El Papi.” The upcoming season will also feature a new cooking segment. Spike TV offers up a new one-hour block showcasing the original series 1000 Ways To Die and MANswers, opening with a back-to-back special sneak preview at 12 midnight on December 5 following the live The Ultimate Fighter finale. The series block will move to its regular time slot on Wednesdays starting December 9 at 10p. 1000 Ways To Die with 12 new episodes, relates amazing true stories about how people die through reenactments and is produced by Thom Beers’ Original Productions, a FremantleMedia company. MANswers with 10 new episodes is the trivia show for guys, produced by Fujisankei and Super Delicious. CBS Vision, the research unit of the CBS Corporation and media company OMD, an Omnicom Media Group business, are partnering on the new research venture, Communication Lab @ OMD. The alliance will give OMD’s clients access to the CBS Television City research facility based at the MGM Grand Hotel in Las Vegas. Information available to OMD clients will include: cross media effectiveness testing using traditional TV and print married with digital platforms such as mobile, ITV and gaming; substantiating effective levels of multi-media exposure; eye tracking to optimize digital, mobile and video game ad placements and sizing; brain scanning to discover the neuro-science of consumer responsiveness to advertising; and the continued development of new measurement tools relating to media innovations and future technologies. Mexicanal Network, now in its fourth year, announced expansions with its digital broadcast distribution into three new markets. The Spanish-language network is available starting this month on KGBT-TV in Texas; KOHC-TV in Oklahoma; and on KCTU-DT in Wichita, KS. Mexicanal Network, originally launched in 2005 as a DIRECTV MAS offering, is distributed through cable, satellite and digital broadcast to more than 3.2 million Hispanic households nationwide.

VERSUS invited three NHL Stanley Cup champs to be part of the Hockey Central studio team this month as guest analysts. Former coach Mike Keenan will join Bill Patrick, Keith Jones and Brian Engblom tonight for the Boston Bruins/Pittsburgh Penguins game starting at 7p. Coach Peter Laviolette joins the hockey crew on November 16 for the Philadelphia Flyers vs. New Jersey Devils match at 7p, and Darren McCarty, four-time Stanley Cup winner, will join the crew on November 23 for the Detroit Red Wings/Nashville Predators clash. Evolution Media, producers of Bravo’s The Real Housewives of Orange County is pitching a male reality series called Boys Club: ATL to networks, cites B&C. Friday A18-49 Analysis: CBS led Friday night and the A18-49 viewers with a 1.9/6, according to final national ratings from Nielsen. Ghost Whisperer on CBS won the 8p time period at 1.9/6 and NBC’s Law & Order was #2 at 1.7/6. At 9p, CBS’ Medium did best at 1.9/6, though a tenth of a rating point ahead of NBC’s second Law & Order episode and UNIV’s Sortilegio that tied for second place at 1.8/6 each. CYNOPSIS DIGITAL – TODAY’S TOP STORY: Google inked a deal to purchase mobile advertising start-up AdMob for $750 million in stock, providing the company with the technology to significantly enhance its presence in the mobile marketing space. AdMob places ads on mobile sites and within smartphone apps based on advertisers’ demographic targets. The company has been the most active ad server on the iPhone platform and has been ramping up efforts to handle ads on Google’s Android platform in recent months. Full edition: CYN DIGITAL. CYNOPSIS KIDS – TODAY’S TOP STORY: Today is brought to us by the number 40! Why? Because today is the official 40th anniversary of Sesame Street that includes the debut an all new look and format for the series, which continues to air on PBS. Produced by Sesame Workshop, the new season includes the launch of a new two-year environmental curriculum-based initiative titled My World is Green and Growing. Among the many honors the series has received, NYC has proclaimed today Sesame Street Day. Also, opening today is a photo exhibit, Sesame Street: The longest Street in the World, open today at Washington D.C.’s Union Station. Additionally, the Smithsonian’s Discovery Theater will throw a birthday celebration for the series on November 15, and the Brooklyn Public Library honors Sesame Street with a three month-long exhibition of the show’s memorabilia. While it may make many of us feel a little old, you gotta admit it is amazingly cool that a kid’s TV series has lasted the test of 40-years! Sesame Street now airs in 140 countries. Congrats to all! CBS Television Stations appointed Peter Dunn as President to manage the operations of the company’s 29 stations. Based in New York, Peter reports to Leslie Moonves, President/CEO, CBS Corporation. Peter moves into this new role from WCBS/New York, where he currently is the President/GM and also succeeds Tom Kane who is leaving his position as President/CEO of CBS Television Stations. Horizon Media tapped Serena Duff as EVP/Managing Partner for the company’s Los Angeles office. In her new position, Serena will supervise Horizon’s clients, reporting to Zachary Rosenberg, EVP/GM for the L.A. office. Serena joins Horizon Media from Universal McCann where she served as SVP/Communications Planning. Santa Monica-based Circus Road Films hired Sebastian Twardosz to be in charge of securing films that will be represented by Circus Road Films. Sebastian joins the company from Allumination FilmWorks, a unit of Contentfilm where he was Senior Acquisitions Executive. Additionally, Circus Road Films added Tara Schemansky Reynolds as Director/Business Affairs to help with the licensing and distribution of films represented by the company.
