Cynopsis: Kids!
06/19/12

Good morning. It’s Tuesday, June 19, 2012, and this your first early morning briefing.

Digital network Alloy Digital acquires Clevver Media, a top entertainment news provider on YouTube targeting the 12 to 34 demographic. That’s also Alloy Digital’s target demo; Alloy in particular has deep roots reaching teens. The acquisition of Clevver Media brings several online entertainment and celebrity channels under Alloy’s roof. They include ClevverTV, ClevverMovies, ClevverMusic, ClevverGames, ClevverNews, ClevverStyle and the Spanish language ClevverTeve. Clevver opened its doors in 2006 and has regularly placed in top-10 YouTube network ranking according to comScore, said Alloy. The digital programmer said the deal brings Alloy Digital’s YouTube subscriber count to more than 8 million, one of the top providers for the video-sharing site. The move also bolster’s Alloy’s content assets, following acquisitions in the last twelve months of YouTube content creator Smosh, digital studio Generate and digital publishing and media network B5 Media. Alloy will cross-promote and combine some of the channels. Alloy said it expects to buy more properties.
