SCI FI Channel morphs into Syfy as of today, as the network officially refreshes its look and branding. Fans of the network are invited to view a new two-minute film called House of Imagination reflecting the new brand philosophy and its tagline: Syfy. Imagine Greater. The film, produced by UK-based 4Creative with visual effects by MPC, will be available on the network’s website at syfy.com as well as on the network. Stars from various Syfy shows make appearances in the film including Amanda Tapping and Robin Dunne (Sanctuary); Colin Ferguson, Salli Richardson-Whitfield, Jordan Hinson and Neil Grayston (Eureka); Lou Diamond Phillips (Stargate Universe); Josh Gates (Destination Truth); Jason Hawes and Grant Wilson (Ghost Hunters); Tracy Morgan (Scare Tactics); Eddie McClintock, Joanne Kelly and Saul Rubinek (Warehouse 13); and Allessandra Torresani (Caprica). US Hispanic network, Telemundo had its best audience delivery for the month of June ever with Monday through Sunday prime, according to Nielsen. Year to year, Telemundo increased its delivery among A18-49 by +36% compared to June 2008 (682,000 vs. 500,000) and a +48% increase among A18-34 versus last year (418,000 vs. 282,000). With final July 4th weekend box office numbers in, Paramount’s Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen grossed approximately $42.4 million over close contender Ice Age: Dawn of the Dinosaurs from 20th Century Fox at $41.6 million. To date Transformers’ domestic cume totals $293.6 million and Ice Age 3’s cume totals $66.6 million. The Style Network brings back its makeover intervention series How Do I Look? for a tenth season premiering July 23 at 9p. Fans of the series will spot changes as the series sports a revamped on-air look with a new penthouse loft and added high-tech effects as well as a new host with stylist/fashion expert/actress Jeannie Mai. The format of the show remains the same as host Jeannie, two accomplices and a professional stylist offer the makeover participant a life-changing transformation with new hair, makeup and clothes. Michael Jackson Memorial Coverage: Undoubtedly a slew of networks will cover the memorial service held at the Staples Center in Los Angeles today. Here is what is likely a partial list of those networks planning coverage (listed alphabetically by network):

Trifecta Entertainment & Media announced the series Punk’d is renewed for the 2009-2010 broadcast season in more than 90% of US TV households. The series has cleared for a second season on WWOR/New York, KCAL/Los Angeles and WCIU/Chicago as well as stations from CBS, Tribune, Sinclair, Raycom, Newport, Meredith, Pappas, Granite, Belo, Acme, Hubbard as well as the CW+ station group in the top 100 markets. Additionally, Trifecta cleared an 18-month barter movie package called Paramount Elite with two Paramount film titles each month in 90% of the US. The movie package premieres this month on such stations as WPIX/New York, KTTV-KCOP/Los Angeles, WFLD-WPWR/Chicago, KYW-WPSG/Philadelphia, KDFW-KDFI/Dallas, KGO/San Francisco and WLVI-WHDH/Boston. As of July 12, Jewish Life Television (JLTV) will become a global network by launching on Hot Bird, a collection of satellites operated by Eutelsat Communications. Currently in 25 million US homes, JLTV will soon be available to an additional 80 million homes in 43 countries throughout Europe, the Middle East and North Africa. With a mix of programming for Jewish and non-Jewish audiences, JLTV serves up news, sports, lifestyle and entertainment programming including feature films, documentaries, music, reviews, interviews, special events and original programs. ~ PRODUCTION & DEVELOPMENT ~
ITV Studios, Inc. in the US is set to produce a seventh season of Celebrity Fit Club for VH1 expanded to nine and a half hours. Casting is underway for the participating eight celebrities who compete to lose weight and get in shape. Distributed by ITV Global Entertainment, the series and format of Celebrity Fit Club has been sold to more than 40 territories around the world. Executive producers for the US version include Jonas Larsen for ITV Studios and Jim Ackerman, Christian McLaughlin and Jeff Olde for VH1. TV One signed its political editor Roland Martin to host a new weekly public affairs series tentatively titled Washington Watch with Roland Martin. The one-hour program will air on Sunday mornings at 11a and again on Sundays at 5p, starting September 27. During each week, Martin, who also serves as an analyst with CNN and a columnist for Essence, will target topics crucial to African Americans and lead discussions among a rotating panel of journalists and experts. The program will also feature officials from the Obama Administration, Congress members and other policy makers and regular appearances by members of the Congressional Black Caucus. Additionally, Martin will conduct interviews with a leading newsmaker each week. Casting Call: BBC Worldwide Productions is casting for a male host to lead a new untitled phobia show about those afflicted with debilitating fears and phobias and exploring available treatments. Male candidates should have an aggressive personality, previous television experience and already be a therapist, counselor, psychologist, psychiatrist or life coach who works with clients suffering from phobias. CYNOPSIS DIGITAL – TODAY’S TOP STORY: The Michael Jackson Memorial Service Tues. morning could prove to be the live web streaming event of the (insert your measure of time here) with several outlets planning coverage beginning around 10 am PT including E!, CBS News, ABC News, Fox News/Hulu and MySpace. CNN is hooking up a Facebook Connect feed as it did during President Obama’s inauguration, allowing users to input commentary during the service. Media outlets are also making sure you’ll be able to access their feeds from multiple sites and platforms. For instance, CBSNews’ live stream can be seen on CBSNews.com, CBS.com, TV.com, TheInsider.com and across the CBS Audience Network, which includes all CBS O&Os and affiliates. CBS Mobile will also offer live coverage on Verizon’s VCast TV, ATT TV (via Media Flo) and on Sprint TV via Mobi TV. CYNOPSIS KIDS – TODAY’S TOP STORY: And the winner in the July 4th three-day holiday weekend domestic box office race is … Paramount’s (DreamWorks) Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen (PG-13) with $42.3 million, edging out Fox’s Ice Age: Dawn of the Dinosaurs (PG), which took in $41.7 million, per Nielsen edi. The preliminary estimates on Sunday had the two movies neck and neck with $42.5 million. In its first 12 days Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen, a sequel, earned a total of $293.4 million in 4,234 theaters, while in its first five days in release Ice Age: Dawn of the Dinosaurs, the third Ice Age movie, took in a total of $66.7 million at 4,099 theaters nationwide. Thursday – A18-49 Analysis:FOX edged out the competition Thursday night, claiming #1 among A18-49 with a 1.7/6 according to final national ratings from Nielsen Media Research. UNIV won the 8p hour with Cuidado con el Angel at 1.4/5 while CBS’ CSI: Miami repeat (in a different time slot) and FOX’s Bones encore tied for second place at 1.1/4. FOX danced a winning jig during 9p with So You Think You Can Dance at 2.3/8 with UNIV’s Manana es para Siempre at 1.9/6. CBS then was the victor at 10p with a rerun of The Mentalist at 1.9/6 followed once again by UNIV and Mujeres Asesinas at 1.2/4.
