CBS announced a further change in plans for the 61st Primetime Emmy Awards telecast. Recently, the live presentation was moved to September 13 and now it will air on September 20 beginning as close to 8p as possible. CBS’ 60 Minutes will air a flexible broadcast that night following a late afternoon NFL game from CBS Sports. Necessitating the switch in dates, CBS learned MTV was airing its Video Music Awards show on September 13 with locked in sponsors and venue. CBS decided to move the Emmys so both events would not air on the same night. The CW revealed its fall premiere schedule on new and returning primetime series: TLC is turning Tuesday nights into real estate workshops for homeowners with the premiere of one new series and the return of two others:
Investigation Discovery takes viewers on a journey through two sets of forensics evidence to decide which is the more accurate and convincing in the new 13-episode series Forensics: You Decide. Opening August 3 at 10p, the series presents two sides of a case, where one person stands accused and the jury will offer its verdict at the end of each episode. Sirens Media produces for Investigation Discovery. Tomorrow night at 11p, LOGO introduces viewers to Jeffrey & Cole Casserole, featuring the comedic online stars in a new 30m sketch comedy series. Over six episodes, Jeffrey and Cole mix stand-up comedy with traditional sketches, musical numbers with some wacky moments thrown in. The series will also premiere tomorrow online at LOGOonline.com. Fox Television Stations and producer Twentieth Television will run a six-week test this summer on the new relationship series Wedlock or Deadlock. Based on the segment from syndicated court show Divorce Court, this new half-hour series watches as psychologist and relationship professional Dr. Michelle Callahan advises couples on whether they are ready to wed or not. Wedlock or Deadlock will premiere July 20 on seven Fox Television Stations in New York, Philadelphia, Atlanta, Tampa, Phoenix, Orlando and Memphis. Oxygen Media delves into world of medi-spas and beauty treatment facilities in its new series Addicted to Beauty, debuting August 4 at 11p. The series, with eight one-hour episodes, centers on the eccentric staff at Southern California-based Changes Plastic Surgery and Spa. Following the premiere episode, Addicted to Beauty will air in its normal timeslot of Tuesdays at 10p starting August 11. Bravo aired the first season finale of The Real Housewives of New Jersey Tuesday night at 10p, delivering 2.46 million A18-49 and 3.47 million total viewers. An encore airing at 11p brought in 794,000 A18-49 and 1.13 million total viewers. GlassBOX Television has plans to launch its cross-platform AUX music channel via Canada’s Rogers Cable in the fall. AUX debuted last November as an online video music destination at www.aux.tv . Right now, viewers can watch AUX online or during two-hour Monday sneak peaks at 9p on BiteTV, GlassBOX Television’s multi-platform channel. HISTORY began production on a new six-episode series Marked, exploring the history of tattooing from ancient times and cultures to the present day. Marked will premiere this summer and is produced by Locker 100 Productions. Showtime approved season three of Tracey Ullman’s State of the Union, headlined by the British comedian doing impersonations of celebrities from Celine Dion to J.K. Rowling, reports Variety. Showtime ordered seven new half-hour episodes slated to open next year. Ullman herself and Allan McKeown are executive producers with Melissa Wylie as producer. Also on Showtime, basketball great Shaquille O’Neal and Jeff Clanagan, producer/CEO of Codeblack Entertainment, opened the All-Star Comedy Jam series yesterday, reports THR. The series stems from the stand-up comedy special featuring Cedric the Entertainment and is part of Showtime’s Laugh Out Loud comedy effort. The next edition of the series, hosted by D.L. CYNOPSIS DIGITAL – TODAY’S TOP STORY: Following the huge spike in internet and social networking use around the controversial Iranian Elections, the Iranian government is resorting to draconian methods to quell the online protests: slowing bandwidth speeds, blocking access to sites and even cutting off cell phone coverage in an effort to hamper the flow of information. Online measurement service Trendrr, which aggregates traffic data from popular social networks, blogs and video sites using raw data directly from the companies’ servers, published some startling figures leading up to the blockade. “Iran” mentions peaked at over 220,000 posts/hour. There were 2.3 million new blog posts about Iran and another 3,133 new Iran-related video posted on YouTube. However now YouTube says it is receiving just 10% of its normal traffic levels. The site points out that it is not YouTube responsible for the censorship – the violent acts portrayed in many of the videos fall under the exceptions of “educational, documentary, or scientific value.” Full edition: CYN DIGITAL. There is no director or screenwriter for the movie(s) so far, the first of which is currently set to being production in mid-2010. Framelight’s Jeffrey D. Erb and Robert L.
