NBCUniversal Launches “Stay-In Theater” Family Movie Nights

“Stay-In Theater” Family Movie Nights From NBCUniversal:
We’re teaming up to launch “Stay-In Theater” Family Movie Nights across the NBCUniversal platform, a first-of-its-kind franchise bringing the family movie night experience directly into viewers homes, across Cable and Telemundo, with very limited commercial interruption, all thanks to Target.
The FIRST “Stay-In Theater” Family Movie Night airs tonight at 7pm across USA, Syfy and E!, where families across the country tune-in to Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets. And we’re continuing the “Stay-In Theater” experience every Friday and Saturday for the next three weeks.
Here’s the lineup:
Saturday, April 11 at 7pm: Kung Fu Panda 2 on Telemundo
Friday, April 17 at 7:30pm: Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban across USA, SYFY, and E!
Saturday, April 18 at 7pm: Zootopia on Telemundo
Friday, April 24 at 7pm: Harry Potter & The Goblet of Fire across USA, SYFY, and E!
Saturday, April 25 at 7pm: Max on Telemundo
In a standard, three-hour moving airing, there are roughly 46 minutes worth of national, local, and promotional content shown.
With “Stay-In Theater” Family Movie Night, NBCUniversal and Target are giving viewers back nearly 34 minutes of content.
Together, we have:
Reduced the national ad time to 1 minute 15 seconds (down from an average of 35 minutes).
Repurposed about 7 minutes of promo time to show fun, behind-the-scenes content related to the movie.
Kept the standard ~6 minute local ad time
Target’s media agency is Essence Global, part of WPP

“Tonight we’re thrilled to air our very first “Stay-In Theater” Family Movie night experience. Thanks to presenting sponsor Target, viewers across America can tune-in to family-friendly films, with very limited commercial interruption. Families around the world are staying at home to stay safe and stop the spread. NBCUniversal is committed to providing the content and viewing experiences that will create special family bonding moments.” — Josh Feldman, EVP, Head of Marketing & Creative Advertising, NBCUniversal
