A new Tom Green show? Green has been spending his time online with a daily show he shoots in his living room and airs at 11p ET/8pm PT. That show will soon come out in syndication in a deal with Debmar-Mercury, as of January 2008, reports Broadcasting & Cable. Tom Green Live will have a slow roll out, debuting in a handful of markets and then expanding. And the show will continue to air live online on Green’s website, and shared virally on YouTube, MySpace and iTunes.

The 6-part South Sydney Story will make its way to Versus this month. The Australian rugby team documentary about how co-owners Russell Crowe and Peter Holmes a Court brought back glory to the historic South Sydney Rabbitohs rugby team will air on Wednesdays starting October 10 at 10p. Australia’s Beyond Productions produced the program with Beyond’s Mikael Borglund and Versus’ Marty Ehrlich as exec producers.
HGTV debuts two new 30m morning shows this weekend as part of its three-hour “building block” of project-based shows which air on Saturdays from 9a-noon. Rip +Renew at 930a features host/builder James Lunday and interior designer Michelle Carano as they guide DIY homeowners on how to transform under-utilized space into added square footage. HammerHeads at 1030a has home expert/builder Steve Hanneman and his crew of carpenters working with homeowners to fix annoying undone building projects and offering professional design and construction advice. These two shows join the Saturday morning line-up that includes: Ground Breakers at 9a; Don’t Sweat It at 10a; Over Your Head at 11a; and Carter Can at 1130a.
Here! has given the go ahead to several more season renewals, including second runs for The Lair, The DL Chronicles and Paradise Falls for a third season debuting in January. The network is also working on a new film, Solar Flare, one of 12 eco-disaster movies it plans on producing, according to The Hollywood Reporter. The film’s theater releaser will take place one week before its television debut on Here!. House of Usher, the second of 12 Edgar Allan Poe story-based films, is also in production.

The Deadliest Warrior – a weekly series which examines the most fierce and deadliest warriors in history and using CG technology each episode will have warriors battle against each other. Produced by Morningstar Entertainment.
Declassified – each week this one-hour series will reveal details on top secret missions that have become declassified from top American military teams such as the U.S. Navy Seals, Green Berets or Delta Force. Each mission will be told through documentary storytelling and scripted action. From 44 Blue Productions and Tom DeSanto Productions.
Dive for Treasure – rag-tag treasure hunters with ex-Marines in tow, search for treasure under the ocean. From Ricochet Television.
Surviving Terror – survivalists will show Americans how to stay alive if a terrorist attack occurs. Produced by Wall to Wall Media.
NBC has ordered up 13 episodes of a drama based on the story Robinson Crusoe, with plans to launch next fall 2008 or midseason 2009. While based in the original 17th century as the original story, some of the story lines will be a little updated including one on race relations, and it will include new characters, says Hollywood Reporter. In fact Crusoe himself is getting a little bit of a makeover, as he will have MacGyver type qualities in his ingenuity.
CBS has ordered up another Mark Burnett production – Jingles is an unscripted game series wherein the contestants (made up of individuals or teams) attempt to come up with winning new jingles for familiar products. The jingles are then performed in front of a live audience. The winner’s jingle gets made in to a commercial; the loser goes home. No launch date yet, tho according to Variety, look for this probably next summer.
Casting Call: A co-host is needed for a new green-themed DiscoveryChannel show, and the network is looking for attractive males and females age 21-35 that are interested in helping the planet and can competently wield home improvement tools. A sense of humor is also needed and a good, fun attitude about getting their hands dirty. Casting Call: TV Land hosts an open casting call this Friday for its new series She’s Got the Look. Supermodel Beverly Johnson and style expert Robert Verdi will be judges for the modeling contest just for 35+ females who reflect sophistication and beauty. The six-episode series will debut next spring and 20 selected women will compete for a modeling contract from Wilhelmina Models Inc. SCI FI Channel elevated Adam Stotsky to EVP/Global Brand Strategy and Market Development. Adam will lead the network’s brand, marketing and creative endeavors in the U.S. in addition to working with the NBC Universal International unit on creative branding efforts to support SCI FI’s launch of new channels in Europe, Asia and Latin America. Wednesday – A18-49 Analysis: CBS was #1 Thursday night at 5.9/15 A18-49, according to final national ratings from Nielsen Media Research. CBS took the 8p hour with Survivor at 4.6/13, followed by the season premiere of ABC’s Ugly Betty at 3.9/11 and in third the special one-hour debut of NBC’s My Name Is Earl at 3.8/11. In fifth overall this hour was CW’s season opener of Smallville at 1.9/6. 9p was the hot spot hour as ABC’s Grey’s Anatomy started the season in first at 8.8/21, with CBS’ CSI next at 8.2/19 and NBC’s one-hour The Office in third at 5.1/12. CBS won at 10p as Without a Trace posted a 4.7/13, with ABC’s freshman Big Shots at 4.5/12 and NBC’s ER premiering with a 4.1/11.
