Good morning. It’s Monday, November 23, 2009, and this is your first early morning briefing. And as always, if you prefer to watch this morning’s news instead of reading it, click here.
Tonight’s Premiere:
ABC: Find My Family at 930p
Tonight’s Finale:
TLC: Jon & Kate Plus 8 at 9p
General Electric and French telco company Vivendi SA, which holds a 20% share in NBC Universal, apparently reached an agreement whereby Vivendi will be paid nearly one-third of the value of its NBCU stake, tho it should also be made clear that the exact amount of that value currently remains in dispute. The two sides are reportedly split by somewhere between $500 million and a high of $1 billion. Vivendi SA is looking for a pay out of approx $6.1 billion for its 1/5 stake. GE needs to pick up the Vivendi portion so that it can turn around its 51% stake to Comcast in a joint venture arrangement. Monies for Vivendi’s stake would be paid between the signing of a deal between GE and Comcast Corp. over the sale of NBCU and that deal’s closing.
