A&E Network is not renewing its drama series Breakout Kings centered on a group of convicts who catch criminals. Breakout Kings aired for two seasons on A&E.
New reality series Insane or Inspired? is set to debut on Syfy May 25 at 10p. The one-hour episodes will count down zany and hilarious videos found online that highlight imagination, invention and extreme experiences. Hosts on the show are Amber Benson, Samm Levine, Booke Hogan, Ralph Garman and Josh Gates, who is also the host of Syfy’s Destination Truth. These hosts join comedians Ben Gleib, Owen Benjamin, Al Jackson, Jodi Miller, Elliot Chang, Jermaine Fowler, Adam Ray, Christina Pazistky, KT Tatara and Janet Varney as they provide commentary on the video clips. Comcast Studios is behind the series.
June is Black Music Month and CENTRIC honors African American music with an original documentary about the life and legacy of Soul Train creator Don Cornelius and new episodes of series Being among other documentary specials and Takeover Weekends. Highlights throughout next month include Earth, Wind & Fire Takeover on June 2 marking the group’s 40th anniversary; Hip-Hop Takeover is June 9; R. Kelly Takeover is June 16; and Soul Train Takeover is scheduled for June 23 at 10p and includes the documentary Don Cornelius: Visionary, Trailblazer & Cultural Icon at 11p followed by Hippest Trip in America which follows the story of Soul Train; encores of the 2011 Soul Train Awards and ending with several classic Soul Train episodes from the past four decades. The series Being airs all-new episodes starting June 2 at 10p with a look at 40 years of music-making from Earth, Wind & Fire. Other Being episodes profile Mary J. Blige on June 9; R. Kelly on June 16; Gladys Knight on June 23; and Teena Marie on June 10, with all episodes airing at 10p.
Exclusive to Cynopsis: Lifestyle network, Outside Television forged a new deal with the Volvo Ocean Race acquiring all ten in-port legs of the world’s longest racing event beginning in June. American TV viewers will have access to hi-def coverage of the Volvo Ocean Race as it enters the US Port of Miami before heading east on its final 6,000 nautical miles across the Atlantic to ports in Lisbon, Lorient and ending in Galway, Ireland on July 8. Outside Television is providing all of IMG Media’s coverage of the Volvo Ocean Race on Saturday and Sunday afternoons in hi-def as well as highlighting racing content via their website through stories, photos, videos and more. Westport, CT-based Outside Television is a national programming network dedicated to the active outside lifestyle and is based on Outside Magazine and its brand. Outside Television is available in most US resort communities and is currently launching across the rest of the US through recent distribution deals with major cable systems.
In early June, healthy living and wellness network, Veria Living debuts the new series Yogi Cameron: A Model Guru featuring former supermodel-turned-yoga master, Yogi Cameron Alborzian. After traveling the world as a sought-after model and working for the likes as Karl Lagerfeld, Valentino and Madonna, Yogi Cameron now stars in this series where he offers people afflicted by health issues the techniques of Ayurveda style yoga, a 5,000 year-old system of medicine and healing. Yogi Cameron: A Model Guru premieres June 3 at 9p.

- The Bulloch Family Ranch centers on Julie and Rusty Bulloch, a working-class couple that dedicates their time and resources to help others especially kids from broken families to help them thrive. From Peacepoint Entertainment Group and Cry Baby Media.
- I Forgive You is a one-hour docu-series offering people the chance to forgive someone who has hurt them in order to overcome hatred, anger and revenge. From Arnold Shapiro Productions and Bayonne Entertainment.
- Earth Angels features a team of “Earthly Angels” who creatively make a positive and dramatic impact on the lives of average Americans who need a miracle. This weekly series is from Wolper Entertainment.
- The Miracle Hunter follows real-life miracle hunter Michael O’Neil who investigates modern-day miracles. From Think Factory.
- Family Zoo is about the Marchezak family along with their extended family living on a 350-acre farm where they house hundreds of animals for a traveling petting zoo. Produced by Think Factory.
- Life by Chocolate is set inside the Cocoa Tree, a boutique chocolate shop in Nashville owned by Bethany Thouin, a self-taught chocolatier who creates unique chocolate sculptures and centerpieces for clients such as The Country Music Awards. Produced by Original Media.
- Party People follows party and event planner Richard Younger, owner of Event Rental, one of the largest independent party rental businesses in the South. From Original Media.
- Restoring Faith follows a group of guys known as the “church guys” who restore old church buildings all over the country. From Stick Figure Entertainment and Bayonne Entertainment.
- Engagement Story spotlights a variety of heart-warming and funny engagement stories from celebrities to ordinary people by using hidden cameras. From Big Fish Entertainment.

- Bottoms Up relates uplifting stories of personal redemption and lives transformed through the healing power of faith, hope and determination. From High Noon Entertainment.
- The Journey hosted by Grammy and Dove Award winner, Steven Curtis Chapman, profiles the songwriters behind some of the biggest and most-inspiring songs of all time. From Me and My House Entertainment.
- The Changers is about hosts who grant wishes of someone in need of a life-changing event. Co-host’s Beverly Adams and her Everyday Philanthropy organization inspired the program. Produced by Me and My House Entertainment.
Syfy’s series Haven added Dorian Missick (Southland, The Cape) and Kate Kelton (Harold and Kumar, American Psycho 2) in recurring roles for the series’ third season set to bow on September 21 at 10p. Missick will play Tommy Bowen, a street-smart Boston detective who comes to Haven investigating a suspected serial killer case. Kelton will play Jordan McKee a spirited waitress at The Gun & Rose Diner and also an influential member of the mysterious organization of “troubled people whose identity is known by their distinctive tattoo.” Haven is produced by Entertainment One and Big Motion Pictures in association with Piller/Segan/Shepherd and airs in the US on Syfy, on Showcase in Canada and internationally via Universal Networks International’s channels.
Two actors, Tia Mowry and Pooch Hall will not be returning to BET’s comedy series The Game for its sixth season. Mowry and Hall portrayed married couple Melanie and Derwin. BET has said the pair will likely be back on the sitcom making guest appearances. Season six returning actors include Wendy Raquel Robinson, Coby Bell, Hosea Chanchez, Brandy Norwood and Barry A. Floyd.
FX’s Sons of Anarchy has added Harold Perrineau (Lost) for the fifth season in the role as Damon Pope. Perrineau will play the ex-drug leader whose daughter was murdered by Tig in the season four finale.

Thursday A18-49 Analysis: FOX succeeded in winning yet another Thursday night among A18-49 with a 3.1/9, according to final primetime national ratings from Nielsen. American Idol on FOX easily won at 8p with a 4.4/15 followed by CBS’ comedies, The Big Bang Theory in rerun and the season finale of Rules of Engagement at an average of 2.3/8. At 9p, the season conclusion of Grey’s Anatomy on ABC was #1 at 4.1/11 and CBS’ Person of Interest with its season ender was next at 2.5/7. CBS’ The Mentalist did best at 10p with its season finale followed by ABC’s season conclusion of newer series Scandal at 2.3/7.
