Details are emerging about the joint venture agreement made by Comcast Corp. and General Electric according to a filing made with the Securities and Exchange Commission on Friday by Comcast. One detail includes GE agreeing to purchase $59 million per year in advertising on NBC Universal properties for five years, beginning when the merger closes. The closing date is likely to happen during the second half of next year at the soonest. Furthermore, GE will make a $60 million ad deal involving NBC U’s coverage of the 2012 Olympic Games. Another detail includes GE retaining the right to persuade Comcast to buy half of its remaining 49% portion of NBC U at the three and a half year anniversary date of the deal’s closing, and the remaining stake at the seven year mark. Additionally, even with Comcast having operational control of NBC U, GE will have certain veto powers as long as it owns 10% and GE will have to grant approval for any NBC U acquisition costing more than $500 billion or any moves that would incur debt of more than $250 million. The SEC filing also states both entities can call off the deal if it has not closed by the one year mark of the announcement, December 3, 2010, though either side can enact a 90-day extension of this provision.

Tonight at 7p, Tennis Channel opens a new half-hour original series, Fit to Hit showing both professional and amateur players exercise and diet advice to help their tennis game. Hosted by model/actress Danielle Dotzenrod, Fit to Hit will not only reveal nutrition and fitness secrets but also tennis trends in science and equipment, injury prevention tips and other wellness strategies.

Mindshare was selected as media agency of record for The Sun Products Corporation in the US. Mindshare will handle strategic media planning and purchases for traditional and digital media for the Sun Products roster of brands including Wisk detergents and Snuggle fabric softener.

FOX is developing an epic family drama called Howl about competing werewolves in a small Alaskan town. From DreamWorks Television, Howl is penned by Joshua Miller M.A. Fortin; DreamWorks’ Justin Falvey and Darryl Frank will executive produce.

Epix’s Nashville family saga Tough Trade added country music star Trace Adkins to its cast, playing Scared, friend and bodyguard to Linwood Tucker (Sam Shepard) who is completely devoted to the family. Thursday  A18-49 Analysis: Even with tight competition, CBS prevailed Thursday night with the A18-49 demo at 2.9/8, according to final national ratings from Nielsen. At 8p, CBS’ Survivor was successful with a 3.9/11 followed by FOX’s Bones at 2.9/8. NBC won during 9p, delivering a 3.5/9 for the average of The Office and 30 Rock with ABC’s Private Practice next at 3.0/8. The second hour of ABC’s Private Practice was #1 at 10p with a 3.3/9 and CBS’ The Mentalist was #2 at 2.5/7.
