NBC combines food with competition in a new series that also touts one of the largest grand prizes among all reality shows. NBC gave a series order to Magical Elves (Top Chef) for United Plates of America (wt) where the grand prize winner will establish their own chain of restaurants with four locations around the US. United Plates of America will watch as restaurateur wannabes compete to be the one chosen by a panel of wealthy investors from the worlds of business and cooking. The participants will be judged on their restaurant theme, menu, marketability and their capability of managing a staff. The panelists and premiere date for the show will be announced at a later date.

A&E Network cast two more in roles for its upcoming drama pilot Sugarloaf, cites THR. Kiele Sanchez and Carlos Gomez were added to the project about Jim Longworth (Matt Passmore), a Chicago cop who gets fired after being shot by his ex-captain who wrongfully accused him of having an affair with his wife.
