Good morning. It’s Friday, May 8, 2009, and this is your first early morning Kids briefing.
Alloy Entertainment (AE), the creators/producers of Gossip Girl, Privileged, The Clique, Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants and The Vampire Diaries will produce and finance its first online web series, based on author Kate Brian’s book series Private. The online series will debut on Alloy Media + Marketing’s recently launched Teen.com ( www.teen.com ) “TV” network. Private is set to launch in mid-August with three webisodes each week for seven consecutive weeks. One role in the series will be cast via a five-week online casting call at www.privatehteseries.com, where would be stars can choose a monologue, film and upload their audition and one role will be filled from this process. Fans will be able to vote on the casting process whittling down the field to 15 finalists, and then the producers taking that down to three and judges choosing the one winner. Ahead of the series premiere, Alloy will air the “casting of” Private reality series in late July. The Private books, there are nine so far, are published Simon & Schuster Children’s Publishing.
