~ MORE STUFF ~

AMC’s second season return of original drama Mad Men is slated for July 27 at 10p, approximately a year after its debut on the network in July 2007. Adding to the anticipation of the series will be a Mad Men Marathon starting July 20 at 12p with all 13 episodes from the first season.

Rev up your engines as TNT’s Summer Series of NASCAR begins June 8 with the Sprint Cup Series Pocono 500 at 130p. Five more races follow ending on July 12 with the Lifelock.com 400 at 730p.

HBO‘s original movie Recount with Kevin Spacey and Laura Dern, among numerous other notables, debuted last Sunday night and delivered approx one million viewers.  The movie was replayed numerous times over the holiday weekend and since, so collectively that number will likely increase dramatically.  And by the way – if you haven’t seen it, you oughta.  It’s pretty doggone good.

A couple of summer schedule changes:

  • As of June 6, MNT will air repeats of Meet My Folks and Paradise Hotel 2 on Friday nights from 8-10p.
  • On NBC starting on June 9th, American Gladiators will begin airing one hour episodes.  Nashville Star debuts that night with a two hour premiere, cuts back to a 90m ep the following week and by June 23rd will be a one hour show airing from 9-10p.  Dateline NBC airs at 10p.

Comedian and perennial sidekick, Harvey Korman, 81, died yesterday at UCLA Medical Center. The actor first attracted notice on The Danny Kaye Show from 1964 until the show was canceled in 1967. Also in 1967 he joined the first season of The Carol Burnett Show where he and Carol performed many memorable sketches such as their rendition of Gone With the Wind and their soap parody As the Stomach Turns. Harvey also played “Ed” to Carol’s “Eunice” in other hilarious skits and during his ten seasons with the variety show he won four Emmy awards. Harvey also appeared in comedy films such as Mel Brooks’ Blazing Saddles and High Anxiety and two Pink Panther movies among several others. He is survived by his wife, Deborah, and four children.

Hear ye, hear ye … it’s the fourth annual Tim Nesvig Fellowship 08 raffle.  You remember this one — if you’re holding the winning raffle ticket, you win:

2 tickets – 2009 Super Bowl
2 tickets – World Series (American or National park)
2 tickets – BCS National Championship Game
2 tickets – Daytona 500
2 tickets – NCAA Final 4
2 tickets – Indianapolis 500
2 tickets – The NBA Finals.

That’s right, two tickets to every single one of those events! Holy smokes!  And the money all goes to the Tim Nesvig Fellowship.  Can’t beat that.  Here’s how it works – raffle tickets are $100 each, drawing to be held on July 28th at the Golf Classic (winner need not be present).  If you’re interested, raffle tickets are available to purchase by calling the tournament hotline at 213 241-7111 or email Julie Filkoff at
.  Out of 2000 tickets, there are now only a few hundred tickets left, so no dawdling.  Also, when you call, ask about the 2008 City of Hope Golf Classic benefiting the Tim Nesvig Fellowship be held in LA this July 27-28 at the Casa Del Mar Hotel in Santa Monica, and on Monday will be at the challenging El Caballero Country Club in Tarzana.  They’re looking for foursomes, sponsors, dinner ticket buyers and auction items! Good luck!
