Bravo heads to sunny Florida for the network’s newest The Real Housewives franchise when The Real Housewives of Miami debuts February 22 at 10p.  This new series follows six socially-connected and influential Miami women.  Bravo also is changing the fourth season launch date of The Real Housewives of New York City to later this spring.  The Real Housewives of Miami is produced by MC Filmworks for Bravo.

GSN signed comedian/talk show host Sherri Shepherd to helm a second season of The Newlywed Game.  The sophomore season of the daily strip series will debut April 18 with 130 new episodes.  The Newlywed Game is part of an original weeknight “Love Block” of relationship-themed game shows on GSN including Baggage with host Jerry Springer and Love Triangle hosted by Wendy Williams.

~ DISTRIBUTION, CLEARANCE & CARRIAGE ~

Dish Network and Frontier Broadcasting struck a carriage deal on Wednesday involving WGXA-TV in Macon, GA, a FOX affiliate along with its digital multicast channel programmed as an ABC affiliate.  Both signals have been dark on Dish since January 1 after the two companies could not reach a retransmission consent agreement before their contract ran out.

~ PRODUCTION & DEVELOPMENT ~

Representatives for Charlie Sheen, star of CBS’ Two and a Half Men said yesterday Sheen may be able to resume production on the sitcom at the end of this month.  The final decision to carry on with production though sits with Warner Bros. Television and executive producer Chuck Lorre.  Sheen recently entered rehab treatment at his home resulting in the sudden production halt of the comedy series last Friday.

CBS ordered a new multi-camera comedy pilot titled The Assistants from executive producer Tucker Cawley (Everybody Loves Raymond).  Cawley also is currently a producer on NBC’s Parks and Recreation and TNT’s Men of a Certain Age.  The new comedy is about four assistants who work tirelessly for a celebrity couple.  Cawley will be the show’s executive producer along with Eric and Kim Tannenbaum.  CBS Television Studios and the Tannenbaum Co. are producing.

Casting Call: Bravo is gearing up for a second season of Top Chef Just Desserts and is scheduling casting calls nationwide in tandem with Top Chef season nine auditions.  Additional casting details and to download an application for either Top Chef season nine or Top Chef Just Desserts season two can be found at www.BravoTV.com/casting  .  The casting calls begin February 27 in Houston followed by February 28 in New York; March 2 in Austin and Philadelphia; March 4 in Charleston; March 7 in Chicago; March 9 in Seattle; March 10 in Las Vegas; and March 14 in Los Angeles.  Both series are produced by Magical Elves.
