DAYTIME EMMY AWARDS

Viewers were frustrated with livestream glitches Sunday night, when the Daytime Emmy Awards, streaming live from the Pasadena Civic Auditorium, froze and at one point disappeared. But patient fans were rewarded with moments like Jeopardy host Alex Trebek, battling Stage 4 pancreatic cancer, accepting his seventh trophy to a standing ovation, and Shemar Moore’s tribute to former The Young and the Restless castmate, Kristoff St. John, who died February 3 at age 52. “Kristoff was in the game 28 years. He wasn’t just in the game, he changed the game,” said Moore. “He opened the door for so many of us, myself and a lot of you out there… So as you continue, young actors, carry his torch with pride.” And Kathie Lee Gifford, who last month left Today after 11 years, took home a trophy with former co-host Hoda Kotb. “What a lovely lovely, lovely surprise,” said Gifford. “I’ve never done anything in my life to get an award for it. Just doing it well is what I was taught. ‘Do the best you can, honey,’ my mom and dad said and ‘leave the rest to God.’ Well God’s doing a really good job tonight.”
