Mayim Bialik is no longer in “Jeopardy!”. “Sony has informed me that I will no longer be hosting the syndicated version of ‘Jeopardy!’,” posted Bialik on Friday. “I am deeply grateful for the opportunity to have been part of the ‘Jeopardy!’ family.” Bialik had been sharing game show duties with Ken Jennings, who will remain as sole host. The move was made “to maintain continuity for our viewers,” said Sony, adding it hoped to continue working with Bialik on prime time specials.

CNN’s Republican primary debate in Iowa on January 10 will be moderated by Dana Bash and Jake Tapper. To qualify, candidates must receive at least 10% of votes in three polls, one of which must be a CNN-approved poll of likely Iowa caucus-goers.

Winners of the 50th Annual Daytime Emmys include “General Hospital” for Outstanding Drama Series, “The Kelly Clarkson Show” for talk show, and “Entertainment Tonight” for entertainment news series. Apple TV+ announced a season two renewal for “Platonic.” Starring and executive produced by Rose Byrne and Seth Rogen, the half-hour comedy has become one of the best performing comedies on the platform since its debut this summer. “We’re so thrilled to have the opportunity to tell more stories with Seth, Rose and everyone at Apple TV+ and Sony,” said series co-creators Nick Stoller and Francesca Delbanco. “Season two spoiler alert: Will and Sylvia won’t get together this time either.”

Also renewed is Starz’ “Power Book IV: Force,” for season three. The drama is the third spinoff in the “Power” franchise.

Matthew Perry died from “acute effects of ketamine,” according to the Los Angeles County Medical Examiner’s Office. Also contributing to the “Friends” star’s death on October 28 at age 54 were drowning, coronary artery disease, and the effects of a drug used to treat opioid use disorder.

PRODUCTION & DEVELOPMENT

Actress/producer Charlize Theron, former Anonymous Content CEO Dawn Olmstead, and Theron’s Denver & Delilah partners Beth Kono and AJ Dix are partnering for a new media venture. The as-yet-untitled company will develop projects across TV, film and other areas content and IP generation. “Dawn has been an incredible collaborator and friend of ours for years,” said Theron. “Her history and accomplishments are an inspiration and joining forces with her to build this new endeavor is simply a dream come true.”

Matthew Arnold (“Siberia,” “Emerald City”) is back at NBC. Arnold will create, executive produce and serve as showrunner for “Nowhere,” a drama in development at Atomic Monster and Vertigo Entertainment. The Vermont-set series is a mystery with supernatural thriller elements.

More true-crime docuseries from ABC News Studios are heading to Hulu. On the way are “Daughters of the Cult,” launching January 4; “Me, Hereafter” premiering February 29; and a second season of “Death in the Dorms” on February 22.

NEW & RETURNING SERIES

“Messi’s World Cup: The Rise of a Legend” premieres February 21. The Apple TV+ four-parter offers a look behind the scenes at the soccer superstar’s five FIFA World Cup appearances and his 2022 victory with Team Argentina.

“Supersex” debuts March 6 on Netflix. The series, inspired by the life of Italian porn star Rocco Siffredi, was created and written by Francesca Manieri.

Season 10 of PBS’ “Finding Your Roots” kicks off with Alanis Morissette and Ciara on January 2. The 10-episode season dives into the ancestral backgrounds and stories of guests including Valerie Bertinelli, Danielle Brooks, Michael Douglas, Lena Dunham, Tracy Morgan and more.

COMING UP

“The AFI Life Achievement Award: 50th Anniversary Special” airs Saturday, December 30 at 8p on Turner Classic Movies. Hosted by Ben Mankiewicz, the show will look back at the history of the award and the work from past honorees.

AMC Networks rings in the New Year with new original dramas including AMC’s “Monsieur Spade,” starring Clive Owen, and Sundance Now’s “Sanctuary: A Witch’s Tale,” starring Elaine Cassidy.

Fresh from its big Daytime Emmys win, ABC soap “General Hospital” will celebrate its 60th anniversary with “General Hospital: 60 Years of Stars and Storytelling” on Thursday, January 4 at 10p.

CASTING

Jon Hamm is set to star in Apple TV+’s “Your Friends and Neighbors.” The drama series from creator Jonathan Tropper and Apple Studios focuses on a recently divorced hedge fund manager who resorts to stealing to keep his family’s lifestyle intact. Tropper executive produces alongside Hamm and Connie Tavel.

Linda Cardellini, Luke Wilson, Abbi Jacobson, Teyonah Parris and Poppy Liu have joined “No Good Deed.” Netflix’s newest dark comedy from creator and executive producer Liz Feldman (“Dead to Me”) also stars Ray Romano and Lisa Kudrow.

Dylan Walsh (“Nip/Tuck”) has joined Paramount+’s “SEAL Team” in a major recurring role. The seventh and final season of the military drama is set to premiere in 2024.

GOING GLOBAL

The BBC has canceled quiz show “A Questions of Sport after 53 years. “Due to inflation and funding challenges, difficult decisions have to be made. Therefore ‘Question of Sport’ is currently not in production at the moment,” said the BBC.

“Little Britain” returns to terrestrial TV this Christmas to celebrate 20 years. Freeview TV channel That’s TV announced that it will broadcast the comedy series to mark two decades since its release. “Little Britain” first launched on digital channel BBC Three in 2003 and was a ratings’ success, going on to secure over nine million viewers following its move to BBC One in 2005.
