Netflix has released “What We Watched: A Netflix Engagement Report.” Topping the list was the first season of “The Night Agent,” followed by season two of “Ginny & Georgia” and K-Drama “The Glory.”

Season 3 of Starz crime drama “Hightown” will be its last. The series’ final season will debut on Friday, January 26. Viewers can follow state trooper Jackie Quinones on her battle to overcome her addictions as she unravels the intricacies of the drug and crime underworld.

Google lost an antitrust case over the market power of its app store on Monday. It’s a blow to the search giant, which is facing other legal challenges to its search dominance and tech business. Epic Games sued Google in 2020, alleging it used its dominant position to squeeze excess profits from app developers.

The Season 24 finale of “The Voice” will feature a performance lineup of Earth, Wind & Fire, Keith Urban, AJR, Jelly Roll, Tyla and upcoming Season 25 judges Dan + Shay. The competition series will crown a winner from the five finalists, who will compete for the title on a live telecast airing Tuesday, December 19 at 9p.

Sundance Institute announced the Short Films and 40th Edition Celebration Screenings and Events that will be part of the 2024 Sundance Film Festival programming lineup. The Festival takes place January 18 – 28, 2024 and will debut brand new 4K restorations of “Napoleon Dynamite,” “Go Fish,” “Three Seasons,” and an extended version of “DIG!” Also showing will be “The Babdook” and “Pariah,” and restorations of “Mississippi Marsala” and “The Times of Harvey Milk.”

Motortrend Group is celebrating its silver anniversary by inviting fans to vote on the single most iconic vehicle of the past 75 years. The 10 nominees can be found and a top one selected here.

The Academy of Science Fiction, Fantasy and Horror Films will honor Christopher Nolan with their Visionary Award at the 51st Annual Saturn Awards on Sunday February 4 at 4p. The honor is reserved for filmmakers who have pushed the boundaries of cinematic storytelling to new heights. Emily Blunt, who is nominated for a Saturn Award for her starring role in “Oppenheimer” will present the award to Nolan.

Shemar Moore has been tapped to present the Lifetime Achievement Honor to Susan Lucci at the 50th annual Daytime Emmy Awards on Friday, December 15, while Jennifer Nettles will perform “Life Is Sweet” during the In Memoriam segment of the ceremony. Moore presented Lucci with her first Daytime Emmy Award in 1990, after she’d been nominated 19 times. The ceremony airs live at 9p on CBS and streams on Paramount+.

PRODUCTION & DEVELOPMENT

Lifetime has ordered two new unscripted series. “Prison Brides” follows seven women from around the world, who believe they’ve found their soulmates in American penitentiaries, while “I Wasn’t Expecting a Baby!” explores true stories of women who weren’t aware they were pregnant until just before they gave birth.

The dating games continue at Netflix. The streamer has renewed “Love Is Blind” for a seventh season. Meanwhile, Season 6, featuring singles from Charlotte, North Carolina, is set debut on February 14. Season 5, which premiered in September dominated Netflix’s Top 10 TV list.

A broadcast direct deal was forged between Oliver Hudson (“The Cleaning Lady,” “And Just Like That…”) and FOX Entertainment. Hudson and his producing partner John Stalberg will develop comedy and drama projects for FOX with FOX Entertainment, which will fully own and distribute the series created.

David Oyelowo (“Lawmen: Bass Reeves”) and Jessica Oyelowo have secured a first-look deal with Apple TV+. Negotiated under their banner Yoruba Saxon, it will see the pair develop and produce projects for the streamer.

Former UTA agent Jed Baker’s Starglow Media has teamed with “Disgraceland” producer Double Elvis on “Musicland Stories.” The 48-part show will be broken into four seasons with each exploring a different locale: an intergalactic voyage, under the sea, in the forests, and in the deserts of a distant universe.

Charlotte Gainsbourg is replacing Camille Cottin in Prime Video’s “Etoile.” Cottin had to exit due to scheduling conflicts. The series follows dancers and artistic staff of two world-renowned ballet companies.

Maripily Rivera is the fourth celebrity to join the cast of Telemundo’s “La Casa de Los Famosos.” The series premieres live on January 23, 2024.

NEW & RETURNING SERIES

Netflix announced the season 3 premiere date of “Bridgerton.” The series new season will roll out in two parts, consisting of four episodes each. Part 1 bows on Thursday, May 16, 2024, while Part 2 debuts on Thursday, June 13.

Kristen Wiig’s new series “Palm Royale” bows Wednesday, March 20 with three new episodes on Apple TV+. Subsequent episodes of the comedy set in Palm Beach will be released every Wednesday through May 8.

U.K. TV series “Alice & Jack,” starring Andrea Riseborough (“To Leslie”) and Domhnall Gleeson (“The Patient”), is coming to the U.S. Masterpiece will debut the series, which has been described as a “love story for the ages,” by its distributor Fremantle.

Original Disney+ docuseries “Choir” bows Wednesday January 31 with all six episodes. It follows the kids of the Detroit Youth Choir, navigating the challenges of balancing family, school and athletics, as they prepare for the performance of a lifetime.

MSNBC is launching “MSNBC Live!” in 2024. Luke Russert will serve as host and creative director on the live event series that will feature interviews, panel discussions and forums in Washington, D.C. and other locations across the country.

COMING UP

“E! News Presents NBC’s Hot 10 of 2023” premieres Wednesday, December 27 at 8p. The special takes an in-depth look at the year’s most memorable pop culture moments, as well as the best in music, fashion, movies and entertainment, and a look ahead at what to expect in 2024.

The HBO Original documentary “Time Bomb Y2K” debuts Saturday, December 30 at 10p on HBO and will be available to stream on Max. Executive produced by Penny Lane (“Listening to Kenny G”), it centers on the clock counting down to the dawn of the 21st century and the world facing the largest potential technological disaster to ever threaten humanity.

The secrets behind artist Edward Hopper’s most iconic works are illuminated in “American Masters – HOPPER: An American Love Story.” The special premieres nationally on PBS on Tuesday, January 2 at 9p. (Check local listings.)

The Cowboy Channel broadcasts live matinee rodeo performance “Go Round of the Wrangler NFR” on Wednesday, December 13 at 1p. The special was originally scheduled for Thursday, December 7, but was canceled due to the tragic events that occurred on the UNLV Campus. The original $11.5 million purse remains the same and will be paid out in full over the 10 rounds.

STREAMING

Reach TV will co-produce and distribute “The Reel Ones with Amir Arison,” which highlights filmmakers and the subjects of their short film documentaries. The series is co-created by executive producer Jesse Scolaro and Amir Arison (“The Blacklist”), who will also host.

Warner Bros. Discovery and YouTube announced that the ad-free tier of Max is now available on Primetime Channels in the U.S. YouTube customers will have access to some of the year’s most-watched content from brands like HBO, TLC, Food Network, HGTV, Cartoon Network, and OWN, plus Warner Bros.

Vudu debuted a special promotion of James Cameron films on Tuesday. For the first time, “True Lies” and “The Abyss” will be available on Vudu and 4K, while “Aliens” and “Titanic” will be available in 4K.

EarthxTV, the entertainment network focused on environmental programming and initiatives, has launched on Philo. The agreement meets an increasing demand for entertaining and informative programming about our planet.

SPORTS ROUNDUP

FITE has officially rebranded as Triller TV. The move facilitates the net’s expansion beyond combat sports, as in its recent additions of major global soccer leagues. “We are thrilled to [realize] one of the core objectives of the acquisition of FITE. The launch of TrillerTV is the culmination of the strategy of expansion from their combat sports roots to broader sports content and even broader entertainment verticals across the globe. Global esports organization Gen. G is working with Cros to bring over one of the most popular game modes they created together in Roblox, Minecraft and ZEPETO. Crocs World Tycoon gives players a chance to win various prize packs, including V-bucks, a custom Xbox Design Lab controller, Crocs footwear and Jibbitz charms. The four-week campaign, Personalize Your Classics, began on December 12 and challenges player to build their own design-centric, beach-themed park.

GOING GLOBAL

Blue Ant Media and Muse Entertainment have teamed to launch “Love Drama,” a free ad-supported streaming TV channel offering a mix of scripted drama. The content includes 300+ hours of movies, series, and mini -series from Muse Entertainment’s vast library of scripted entertainment. The channel is available to audiences in the UK on Virgin Media and Netgem TV and in Canada on LG Channels and Pluto TV, and will roll out across additional platforms and territories in the new year.

All3Media International and Falcon Pictures are developing local versions of Two Brothers Pictures’ thrillers “Liar” and “Cheat,” as well as mystery thriller “The Cry” from Synchronicity. The partnership with Falcon Pictures is All3Media International’s first scripted format deal in Indonesia.

ONE Championship has teamed with Sky Sports to air ONE Events ancillary programming on Sky’s broadcast and digital platforms across the United Kingdom and Ireland. The partnership kicks off with ONE Fight Night 18: Superlek vs. Mahmoudi, which airs live on Saturday, January 13 at 1a GMT.

NewsNation delivered its strongest primetime viewership the week of December 4, garnering nearly 1.6 million viewers for the fourth GOP Presidential Primary Debate. Among Adults 25 to 54, the event was watched by more than 350,000 viewers, according to Nielsen.

The Cowboy Channel’s “100 Rodeos in 100 Days” reached record-breaking viewership, nearly 11 million impressions persons 18+ between June 15 and September 22, 2023, as per Nielsen. It marks an increase of 64% from 2022.
