TelevisaUnivision is implementing “significant and necessary changes,” wrote CEO Daniel Alegre in a memo to employees on Monday. In addition to layoffs, those changes include a major adjustment to the company’s organizational structure. Jose Luis Fabila, currently Head of Content and Strategy at TelevisaUnivision in Mexico, will oversee all global content in the newly created role of Global Content Organization. Donna Speciale, President of US Ad Sales and Marketing, will add local and audio ad sales to her purview; local media head Jesus Lara is exiting the company. Ignacio Meyer, Head of US Networks, will add US audio and local programming to his responsibilities. Pierluigi Gazzolo will step down as head of streaming, and Vix COO Rafael Urbina will ascend to the top role overseeing digital and streaming.

“I understand that this will be a challenging week, but I ask for your focus and resilience as we take these important steps toward a stronger and more connected future,” wrote Alegre, who took the CEO job in September, to teams bracing for job cuts. “Together, we are building a company positioned for sustained growth, innovation, and leadership.”
