Warner Bros. Discovery has requested that bidders submit revised, sweetened offers by Monday, December 1. Paramount Skydance is pursuing an acquisition of the entire company, while Netflix and Comcast are focusing on Warner Bros. Studios and HBO Max. The first round of bids were submitted on November 20.

FX has ordered a series adaptation of Ubisoft’s “Far Cry” video games.It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia” creator and star Rob Mac (fka Rob McElhenney), co-creator with Noah Hawley (“Fargo”), will star. “Getting to work alongside Noah Hawley is a dream realized,” said Mac. “Ubisoft has been remarkably generous, entrusting us with one of the most iconic video-game worlds ever created. And through it all, my FX family continues to lift me up with their constant belief and support.” The show will stream on Hulu.

Hulu has renewed “The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives” for season four. No surprise there – season three of the reality show debuted as the #1 show on the Hulu Top 15.

Anthony Anderson (“Black-ish”) has been set as host for Netflix’s “Star Search” reboot. The competition launches January 13 and will air live on Tuesdays and Wednesdays at 9p.

Fubo lashed out at NBCUniversal in a statement about the carriage dispute that caused NBCU networks to go dark on Fubo on November 21. One sticking point, says Fubo, is Versant, the new company spinning off from NBCU on January 1. “Despite them not being worth the cost to Fubo subscribers, Fubo offered to distribute Versant channels for one year,” reads the statement. “NBCU wants Fubo to sign a multi-year deal – well past the time the Versant channels will be owned by a separate company. NBCU wants Fubo subscribers to subsidize these channels.” Another issue: “NBCU wants Fubo to add expensive, non-sports channels, which will drive up the price paid by Fubo subscribers,” said Fubo, adding that it hopes NBC will reconsider their stance, or “we’ll be forced to move on without them.”

The number of FAST channels increased 8.9% globally from 3Q25 to the fourth quarter, according to Gracenote Data Hub. The increase in the US was 5.9%. Sports content on FAST channels grew by 20.4%, found Gracenote, followed by the nature genre (+14.3), horror (+13.7%), and action (+12.8%). The romance genre saw an -8% decrease.

The BBC is addressing financial challenges by reducing its workforce to save at least $132 million and transform into a “creative and tech leader in an AI-driven world.” In a note to employees on Tuesday, BBC COO Leigh Tavaziva said the goal is to achieve “streamlined, efficient, and modern” back-office processes, as well as an overhaul of the media supply chain. “Efficiency is not just about reducing costs – it is about enabling us to reinvest in content and deliver the exceptional value for all audiences,” she wrote.

Docuseries “Sean Combs: The Reckoning” drops Tuesday, December 2 on Netflix. The four-parter from Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson is described in the logline as “a staggering examination of the media mogul, music legend, and convicted offender.”

The second and final season of HBO Latino’s “Like Water for Chocolate” premieres Sunday, February 15 at 8p. The series combines magical realism connected with traditional Mexican dishes and ancestral alchemy as a portrayal of Mexican culture.

ABC has picked up spinoff “The Rookie: North,” starring Jay Ellis (“Running Point”), to pilot. The series comes from “The Rookie” creator Alexi Hawley, who will write and direct.

Sophia Al-Maria (“Little Birds”) has boarded TV series “The Many Lives of Miss K.” The project from Finite Films & TV and Shoni Productions is adapted from the work of Jean-Noël Liaut and will depict the life of fashion model and WWII secret agent, Toto Koopman.

OOH adtech provider Broadsign has acquired SSP Place Exchange. The agreement includes the entire Place Exchange platform and OOH technology portfolio. The transaction is Broadsign’s fourth ad tech acquisition in less than seven years, and bolsters Broadsign’s network of programmatically transactable OOH inventory to 1.8 million screens.

The Harlem Globetrotters and lottery vendor EQL Games unveiled a joint partnership to identify and launch state lottery games across the country in celebration of the organization’s centennial season. The program, the first-ever lottery series connected to the Globetrotters brand, will officially begin in December with a scratch ticket released by the Maryland Lottery.

NESN, New England’s sports network, announced that Bauer has signed a two-year extension as presenting sponsor of NESN’s Professional Women’s Hockey League coverage through the 2026-27 season. The renewal follows a 2024-25 debut season that marked Bauer’s first integrated sponsorship with a regional sports network around PWHL programming.

NBCU Local’s multicast network COZI TV is adding Sony Pictures TV sitcoms “Malcolm & Eddie” (1996-2000) and “The Steve Harvey Show” (1996-2002) to its morning lineup. On Monday, December 1, the shows will premiere with back-to-back episodes at 8a and 9a, respectively.

Kartoon Studios struck a strategic partnership with Shriners Children’s, a nonprofit pediatric specialty healthcare system, to provide access to Kartoon Channel! and Ameba TV across Shriners Children’s locations. Under the agreement, patients and families at Shriners Children’s facilities will receive complimentary access to Kartoon Studios’ content.

Japan’s Nippon TV’s action-drama series “HiGH & LOW,” originally produced by HI-AX, the joint production company between Nippon TV and LDH Japan, will be adapted in Thailand by GMMTV and Parbdee Tawesuk. Marking the franchise’s first international expansion, the series is slated to air in 2027.

Vision Plus Entertainment has struck a deal with Malaysia’s Astro for Up Studios’ animated property “Super BOOMi.” Under the terms of the pact, Astro has acquired the exclusive rights to show the CG-animated cartoon series on its TV and digital platforms.

Global Constellation has acquired the global distribution rights to fantasy drama series “All Heroes Are Bastards.” The series is being produced by Picture Me Rollin and bildundtonfabrik for ARD Degeto Film in Germany with the support of Film- und Medienstiftung NRW and the German Motion Picture Fund.

   COMING UP

“Mission Impossible – The Final Reckoning” starts streaming Thursday, December 4 on Paramount+. The Tom Cruise blockbuster debuted theatrically on May 23.

TCLtv+ is offering four dedicated holiday channels: Holiday Movie Favorites by Lifetime, Sweet Escapes, Stingray Greatest Holiday Hits, and TCL Holiday. British film “Tinsel Town,” starring Kiefer Sutherland and Rebel Wilson, joins the TCL Holiday lineup on Monday, December 15.

Telemundo’s coverage the Miss Universe last Thursday delivered over 2.6 million total viewers and 714,000 Adults 18-49, becoming the most-watched primetime entertainment special on Spanish-language television in 2025, according to Nielsen. The international telecast also ranked as the #1 entertainment program, regardless of language, on Thursday among A18-49.
