Peacock has renewed the Alan Cumming-hosted reality series “The Traitors” for a fourth and fifth season. Season two garnered four Emmy nominations – Outstanding Reality Competition Program, Directing for a Reality Series, Cinematography for a Reality Series and Outstanding Host for a Reality or Reality Competition Program for Cumming.
“The Gentlemen,” director Guy Ritchie’s drama series, has been renewed for a second season on Netflix. The series, which stars Theo James as aristocrat Eddie Horniman and Kaya Scodelario as drug empire heiress Susie Glass, will return for eight episodes. Ritchie also will continue as director and writer, with co-writer Matthew Read. Filming is expected to start next year. |

Food Network has reached an exclusive multi-year deal with Chef Alex Guarnaschelli that will include multiple projects across the network’s linear and digital platforms, as well as an opportunity for Guarnaschelli to develop and produce new creative concepts. Guarnaschelli first appeared on Food Network in 2006 as a competitor on “Food Network Challenge,” and since has been part of over 600 episodes of programming on the network.
Production house Jupiter Entertainment has reached an overall co-production deal with veteran producer Chris Deaux and his Two Fifteen West Entertainment. Both companies previously collaborated on Discovery+’s “Prisoner of Love” and “Finding Andrea.” Under the deal, Deaux will create, develop and co-produce unscripted programming with Jupiter Entertainment, working closely with Patrick Reardon, President of Jupiter Entertainment.
Sandro Rosta will star in the Paramount+ original series “Star Trek: Starfleet Academy,” joining the cast as a cadet. The upcoming series, produced by CBS Studios, will follow the adventures of a new class of Starfleet cadets as they come of age in one of the most legendary places in the galax and will begin production later this month.

New CBS Media Ventures game show “Flip Side,” hosted by Jaleel White, will premiere September 9 in national syndication on stations across the country. The show pits two teams of players against each other to test them on how they think two different groups of people feel about the same issue.
BET+ will premiere “Who’s Cheating Who,” starring Cynthia Bailey (“The Real Housewives of Atlanta”), Darius McCrary (“Family Matters”), Apryl Jones (“The Comeback”), and Blue Kimble (“Ruthless”), on August 29.
Investigation Discovery is introducing three new series in September: “How (Not) to Get Rid of a Body,” a psychological true crime thriller exploring the lengths killers go to dispose of a body; “The Real Murders on Elm Street,” a six-part docuseries about ghastly crimes that just so happen to take place on Elm Streets across the country; and “Cabin in the Woods,” a true-crime-meets-horror series that tracks murders committed in the wilderness.
Comedy Central has licensed the rights to library episodes of animated series “Family Guy,” and will launch the series with an all-day marathon on Labor Day, September 2. “Family Guy” will join the Comedy Central primetime lineup starting September 3.
“Donkey Hodie,” the puppetry series from Fred Rogers Productions and Spiffy Pictures, has been greenlit for a third season on PBS KIDS, with new episodes expected to debut in 2025. Season three will feature five new episodes, including two half-hour specials, including a special half-hour cross-over episode with “Daniel Tiger’s Neighborhood,” which is also produced by Fred Rogers Productions.

Live music series “Austin City Limits” has released the schedule for its 50th Anniversary broadcast season, which will feature an all-star slate including returnees Chris Stapleton, Juanes, Gary Clark Jr., Brittany Howard, Nickel Creek, Black Pumas, Maggie Rogers and The War And Treaty, alongside debuts from Gracie Abrams, Jelly Roll and Jacob Collier. The PBS series will return on September 28 at 7p with seven-time Grammy winner Kacey Musgraves. Other events in the year-long celebration include the “10th Anniversary Austin City Limits Hall of Fame” honoring Garth Brooks, taping on September 5; and “Austin City Limits 50th Birthday Bash” on October 17. On November 21, the program will tape a primetime special, “ACL Celebrates 50 Years,” with stars from the show’s past five decades returning to the ACL stage, set to air on PBS in 2025.
AXS TV will air the “Ameripolitan Country Music Awards” on August 18 at 1p. The event was taped at the Austin City Limits Moody Theater during the 10th Annual Ameripolitan Awards show on February 18. The special is hosted by founder and country star Dale Watson.

MyBundleTV has reached a co-marketing and distribution agreement with streamer Roku. Beginning August 14, MyBundle’s ISP partners can offer their new or existing customers a free Roku Streaming Stick 4K utilizing the MyBundle platform. MyBundle and Roku will handle all the fulfillment.
MAVTV launched MAVTV GO, a direct-to-consumer streaming service developed in partnership with Endeavor Streaming. MAVTV GO brings motorsports fans access to original shows, live racing, race recaps, documentaries and a library of video-on-demand content that includes archive racing coverage.
Documentary “As Prescribed” is now available through Apple, Google, and Tubi. The film, directed by Holly Hardman, illuminates the often-overlooked crisis of benzodiazepine illness and injury showcasing its devastating impact on individuals and families.

According to a recent study from LG Ad Solutions, Connected TV is a pivotal environment for advertisers to connect to Black Americans. Its latest report, “The Inclusive Screen: Black Americans,” found that Black CTV users are more likely to take action after seeing an ad, with nearly half visiting a website, 29% purchasing a product and 24% visiting a store. The report also found that 63% of Black CTV users find streaming TV ads to be more relevant than traditional TV ads, 68% of Black CTV users prefer streaming free video content with ads, and 65% watch over two hours of FAST content per week.
Lotame has launched Lotame Curation, which the company says offers a more efficient and effective way for media buyers to deliver benchmark-beating campaign results, unlocking supply via Private Marketplaces (PMP) and uses differentiated audience insights to scale performance. During early trials of the product, results showed 20% better campaign efficiencies, improved video completion rates by 15%, and 21% higher viewability.
Infillion launched IDVX, a solution that brings scalable and measurable premium interactive video, including shoppable ads, across CTV, desktop and mobile. It is the company’s first new product since it acquired MediaMath in 2023. IDVX is tailored for digital and video buyers with KPIs at any stage in the purchase funnel, and optimizes campaigns to drive higher brand lift and purchase intent.
Cyber safety company White Bullet has partnered with FreeWheel to advance a clean and efficient advertising ecosystem. As part of the agreement, White Bullet will enable FreeWheel to provide media buyers with additional risk protection, brand safety, and full transparency on ad placement and digital supply chains.
SPORTS UPDATE
As its parent Paramount Global moves to eliminate about 15% of its workforce to slash costs, CBS Sports chief David Berson told an audience at an NFL media breakfast in New York that his unit should remain relatively unscathed, according to Deadline. Berson added that while every division of Paramount will be impacted by the layoffs, CBS Sports is “largely intact.” Paramount took a $6 billion write-down in the second quarter for its cable networks. It agreed to be purchased by a group led by Skydance Media earlier this year in a deal expected to close early next year.
The Paris Olympics were golden for NBC Sports on YouTube between July and August, attracting nearly 718 million views on the online video platform, up from 510 million in the six preceding months, according to measurement company Tubular. During the full calendar year 2023, NBC Sports had 1.2 billion views on YouTube and 816 million views through August. NBC Sports was also busy sponsoring videos around the Olympics. Between July and August, NBC Sports sponsored 11 different YouTube videos – with creators like Carter Kench, Haley Kalil, Zhong, Kristy Sarah and more – to promote the Olympics and Team USA, and generating another 4 million views around the Games.
