The White House is calling on Fox News to retract its claims of bribery and corruption against President Biden, in light of the fact that the informant who was the source of the claims has been charged with fabricating the story. “Fox has taken no steps to retract, correct, or update its reporting on this false allegation from 2023,” wrote White House spokesperson Iam Sams in a letter to Fox News CEO Suzanne Scott, President Jay Wallace, and Washington bureau chief Bryan Boughton. Responded the network in a statement, “Fox News Media has reported on all key developments since the announcement that Alexander Smirnov was charged with lying to the FBI, featuring the story prominently. We will continue to report on developments in all aspects of the ongoing investigations, hearings, and trials.”

Former NASCAR star Dale Earnhardt Jr. is leaving his role as an NBC analyst and joining Prime Video and Warner Bros. Discovery in 2025, when they begin teaming on NASCAR coverage. “Dale Earnhardt Jr. is beloved in the NASCAR world and has made numerous contributions to NBC Sports, from his work as an analyst on our NASCAR coverage to his experiences as a correspondent at major events like the Indianapolis 500, the Kentucky Derby, the Super Bowl and the Olympics,” said an NBC Sports spokesperson in a statement to The Athletic. “We thank Dale and we wish him the best going forward.” Earnhardt joined NBC in 2018, after retiring from racing.

“Vanderpump Rules” alum Rachel Leviss is suing her former reality show castmates Tom Sandoval and Ariana Madix for eavesdropping, invasion of privacy and intentional infliction of emotional distress. Leviss claims the show’s portrayal of her affair with Sandoval behind his long-time girlfriend Madix’s back “caused mayhem in Leviss’s life, culminating in months-long in-patient treatment at a mental health facility and her departure from the show. Fomented by Bravo and Evolution in conjunction with the cast, Leviss was subjected to a public skewering with little precedent and became, without exaggeration, one of the most hated women in America.” Leviss alleges she was misled by Bravo and producer Evolution Media into thinking she was “contractually barred from speaking out about her mistreatment,” and is demanding that an NSFW video of her and Sandoval be destroyed.

Netflix ordered its first procedural medical drama series, “Pulse,” from creator, showrunner and executive producer Zoe Robyn and showrunner and EP Carlton Cuse. Justina Machado (“The Horrors of Dolores Roach”) is the first series regular to be cast.

PBS’ Masterpiece series “Miss Scarlet and the Duke” will be renamed “Miss Scarlet” for season five, as Stuart Martin, who played William “The Duke” Wellington, exits the show. “I will miss working with my pal Stu every day, and know Eliza will miss her Duke, but I think the best is yet to come for her,” said Kate Phillips, who will return as crime-solving Scarlet. Filming is underway in Serbia.

Paramount+ ordered a new series in the “NCIS” franchise, starring Cote de Pablo and Michael Weatherly, who will reprise their roles as Ziva David and Tony DiNozzo. The two also will serve as executive producers alongside John McNamara (“The Magicians”), who wrote the premiere episode and will serve as showrunner. Laurie Lieser, Christina Strain and Shelley Meals also will executive produce and the series will be distributed by Paramount Global Content Distribution.

Starz drama “BMF,” which has its season three premiere today, has been renewed for season four. “Fans can’t get enough of the history in the making that is ‘BMF’,” said Kathryn Busby, President of Programming for Starz. “We’re thrilled to start working on a new season that will continue bold storytelling of the legend of the Flenory brothers that has proven to resonate so deeply with our viewers.”

Lauren Holly (“Picket Fences”) and Bruce Boxleitner (“Babylon 5”) will star in Great American Family film “Aurora Christmas,” opposite Jill Wagner and Jesse Hutch.

Renovating a home on schedule and within budget? That’s the focus of “Design Goals,” a new series premiering on Magnolia Network Saturday, March 23 at 2p.

Bravo’s “The Real Housewives of Dubai” is back for a sophomore run on Sunday, June 2 at 9p. Beginning Tuesday, June 11, the series will move to its regular timeslot of Tuesdays at 9p.


“Law & Order: Special Victims Unit” detective Olivia Benson, the longest-running female character on primetime TV, will be celebrated with an immersive exhibit at NYC’s Rockefeller Plaza dedicated to Benson and the show, now in its 25th season. The experience takes place March 14 and 15, and will include trivia, merch, giveaways and more.

The 2024 MTV EMAs will take place in Manchester, UK on Sunday, November 10. The show will also be available in multiple territories on Pluto TV and on-demand on Paramount+.

Stand-up special “Brian Simpson: Live from the Mothership” debuts Tuesday, March 19 on Netflix. The special is the first to be shot at Joe Rogan’s Austin comedy venue, The Comedy Mothership.

ElectricNOW, Electric Entertainment’s OTT app and FAST channel, and Sinclair Broadcast Group’s Comet have collaborated to televise the 51st Annual Saturn Awards which took place on Sunday, February 4. The award ceremony will air on Comet on Saturday, March 2 at 10p, with an encore presentation later in the month.


Disney and Reliance Industries struck a deal to merge Reliance’s Viacom18 and Disney’s Star India in a deal estimated to be worth $8.5 billion. Reliance Industries will own 16.3% of the merged entity, Viacom18 will own 46.8% and Disney 36.8%. “India is the world’s most populous market, and we are excited for the opportunities that this joint venture will provide to create long-term value for the company,” said Disney CEO Bob Iger. “Reliance has a deep understanding of the Indian market and consumer, and together we will create one of the country’s leading media companies, allowing us to better serve consumers with a broad portfolio of digital services and entertainment and sports content.”

aspire TV+, a new commercial-free subscription video on demand streaming service powered by aspireTV, has launched on Prime Video via Prime Video Channels for $4.99 a month. “Launching during Black History Month, we are proud to showcase a majority of our original programming from content creators and cast that are Black led, produced, written and/or directed, and is reflective of Black culture, life and style, allowing our audience to #seeyourselfhere and celebrate Black history all year long,” said Angela Cannon, GM, aspireTV.


President Biden issued an executive order asking the Department of Justice to prevent Americans’ personal data from being transferred to China, Cuba, Iran, North Korea, Russia and Venezuela. The President’s Executive Order focuses on information including genomic data, biometric retail data, personal health data, geolocation data, financial data, and “certain kinds of personally identifiable information,” said the White House. “Companies are collecting more of Americans’ data than ever before, and it is often legally sold and resold through data brokers,” noted the statement. “Commercial data brokers and other companies can sell this data to countries of concern, or entities controlled by those countries, and it can land in the hands of foreign intelligence services, militaries, or companies controlled by foreign governments.”

Leveraging a portion of ad dollars for addressable TV advertising, in addition to linear TV, in the majority of cases results in increased campaign reach, according to a study from CIMM and Go Addressable. “A Guide to Best Practices in Planning and Buying Addressable Television Advertising” reports that incorporating addressable TV advertising into a brand’s media mix consistently garners about 40% reach, regardless of a marketer’s target audience penetration. Low-penetration brands, which the report defines as under 20%, achieved target audience reach of between 37% and 45%, on average. High-penetration brands (those over 70%) saw an incremental target audience reach of between 37% and 44%, on average. “The TV ad market is clearly changing, with viewing becoming far more widely distributed over a growing range of linear and non-linear services,” said Jon Watts, Managing Director, CIMM. “Addressable TV advertising has become an increasingly critical capability for the industry, helping advertisers to cost effectively build out the reach and frequency of their campaigns, including for larger target audience segments. Linear and addressable are better together.”

FreeWheel announced the introduction of Allocation Module, enabling marketers to manage the totality of their upfront ad spend commitments across various transaction types, spanning direct sold, programmatic guaranteed, and, for the first time, biddable programmatic deals. In addition, FreeWheel’s corporate cousin Comcast Advertising announced the launch of its Signal Authentication Service, an offering aiming to improve the accuracy of cross-screen measurement and attribution of TV advertising. “Our motivation for launching Signal Authentication is to provide advertisers with a way to better understand which parts of their media mix are actually providing value, especially with the added catalyst of signal loss and desire to accurately report on reach/frequency,” said Larry Allen, VP & GM, Data & Addressable Enablement, Comcast Advertising.


Seventy-four percent of CTV users watch live sports via streaming applications (up from 68% in 2023), and 54% plan to stream March Madness in the coming weeks, according to a study from LG Ad Solution. “Sports has long been a cornerstone of traditional TV, but we’re now in the midst of a transformation in how fans engage with sports content,” said Serge Matta, President of Ad Sales for LG Ad Solutions. “There is a huge opportunity for marketers to engage with sports enthusiasts in ad-supported TV environments right now and we expect to see that continue to grow as more viewers make the leap from linear to streaming environments.”

Vestible, an athlete investment platform, announced the launch of its app, headlined by the initial offering of Denver Broncos linebacker Baron Browning. The platform is currently in beta and will launch to the public the week of March 18. The platform enables investors to buy and sell shares in the future on-the-field earnings of individual athletes. Users will be able to purchase shares of 1% of Browning’s salary, which Vestible is entitled to for the remainder of his playing career, then hold or trade that stock on Vestible’s platform.


All3Media International announced two sales in Asia for Wildbear Entertainment’s “Wild Winter.” The four-part natural history docuseries premiered in Chinese VOD outlet YOUKU (an Alibaba streaming platform), while in South Korea, the public broadcaster KBS will introduce the show to the country by March.

Telemundo’s “En Casa con Telemundo” delivered an average 136,000 viewers A18-49 the week of February 19. The show also saw +22% growth within the A35-49 demo compared to the prior week, the highest delivery in the demo this year to date.
