| Warner Bros. Discovery is weighing whether to restart sale negotiations with hostile bidder Paramount Skydance, according to Bloomberg. Board members are debating if renewed discussions following Paramount’s revised offer could secure a stronger deal – or potentially pressure Netflix to raise its bid. In December, WBD reached an agreement to sell its film studio and HBO Max to Netflix for $27.75 per share.

Netflix’s “Terminator Zero” won’t be back for a second season. The eight-episode animated reboot of 1991’s “Terminator 2: Judgment Day” premiered in August 2024. “The critical and audience reception to it was tremendous, but at the end of the day not nearly enough people watched it,” wrote series creator Mattson Tomlin on X.
Faced with increasing legal threats, ByteDance has agreed to strengthen safeguards on Seedance 2.0, an AI tool that enables users to create realistic videos based on text prompts. Videos shared online which appear to show copyrighted characters and celebrity likenesses have prompted objections from studios including Disney, Paramount Skydance, Netflix and more. “ByteDance respects intellectual property rights and we have heard the concerns regarding Seedance 2.0,” said a company spokesperson. “We are taking steps to strengthen current safeguards as we work to prevent the unauthorized use of intellectual property and likeness by users.”

| Fox is re-airing two-hour special “The Real Full Monty” in tribute to actor James Van Der Beek (“Dawson’s Creek”), who was battling colorectal cancer at the time of the special and joined in the hope of inspiring others to get tested early. The encore, airing Wednesday, February 18 at 8p on Fox, celebrates Van Der Beek’s participation in the event. Van Der Beek died February 11 at age 48.
