Topps released their final numbers for TOPPSNOW 2017. The Top 5 best-selling TOPPS NOW cards of all time all rolled off the presses this past summer: New York Yankees OF Aaron Judge, commemorating his rookie home run record (2017), sold 16,138 cards; Judge, commemorating his Home Run Derby (2017) win, sold 8,997 cards; Judge, commemorating a 495-foot home run (2017), sold 8,623 cards; Judge, commemorating his breaking of Joe DiMaggio’s Yankees rookie team record, sold 8,538 cards; and former New York Yankees SS Derek Jeter, commemorating his number retirement ceremony, sold 7,791 cards.
The Boston Globe reported that Samuel Adams is “set to replace longtime sponsor Budweiser as the official beer of the Red Sox, after its brewer, Boston Beer Co., signed an eight-year deal with the team” through the ’25 season. Sam Adams will build a significant presence in and around Fenway Park, including some robust signage and fan experiences.
Richard Childress Racing announced that Caterpillar has renewed its primary sponsorship of the team’s No. 31 Chevy in the Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series. The company has been a primary sponsor of the team since ’09 and on the hood of Ryan Newman’s No. 31 for up to two-thirds of the season in recent years.
In a move that will change the face of the hospitality industry, On Location Experiences, the NFL’s official premium hospitality firm, acquired PrimeSport, one of the largest hospitality and ticket exchange rights holders from the Final Four to College Football Playoff games and several professional sports. The deal with PrimeSport will amplify OLE’s reach across sports and entertainment. On Location now has the rights to 150 teams, leagues and events, including the Ryder Cup, Daytona 500 and multiple music festivals. For now, PrimeSport will continue operating under its current name as a division within OLE, but PrimeSport CEO Tim Brosnan will depart the company.
“PrimeSport was the biggest shark in the water,” On Location CEO John Collins told ESPN. “They have the inventory to the best events. As rights holders, we know what it takes to create a better experience. Together, we are a formidable pairing.”

FloSports and SLAM Media Inc. are teaming for a content partnership to recognize and promote some the most elite high school basketball players across the nation. The partnership will include a series of videos and features available on FloHoops and SLAM throughout the ’17-’18 basketball season. Key players include: Cole Anthony, Moses Brown, Jordan McCabe, Simi Shittu, Scottie Lewis and Bryan Antoine.
SHOWTIME Sports will deliver live coverage of women’s boxing sensation Katie Taylor’s first defense of her WBA World Lightweight Title against Jessica McCaskill Wednesday on social platforms. The full eight-fight card from York Hall in London will be available for free exclusive to the U.S audience on the SHOWTIME Sports YouTube channel and the SHOWTIME Boxing Facebook page beginning at 1 p.m. ET. Coverage from London will be provided by Sky Sports and also feature Conor Benn, Lawrence Okolie, Josh Kelly and Joe Cordina in separate bouts.

Experiential marketing agency Engine Shop, a Bruin Sports Capital company, announced the acquisition of The Gamer Agency (TGA), an esports strategy, event production and development company. TGA currently operates the Mixer NYC Studio digital production facility at New York’s Microsoft Store. This year, the studio will produce and broadcast approximately 100 esports and other gaming events across a range of titles.
