The season five trailer for “Yellowstone” roped in 14.4 million views, 1.7 million engagements and gained 111K new followers in its first 24 hours. That mad it the top video for the day across all drama categories.
“Scrubs” executive producer Eric Weinberg was re-arrested following 18 counts of sexual assault. Weinberg was initially arrested in July but was released on $3.225 million bond; this Tuesday he was arrested for the second time and was later released (once again) on $5 million bond.
Michael Strahan was named New York’s Broadcaster of the Year. The Pro Football Hall of Famer and “Good Morning America” anchor received the honor from the NY State Broadcasters Association. David Donovan, president of the NYSBA, called Strahan a “tour de force in television.”

Quiz show “The Floor” is coming to America. John de Mol, creator of “Big Brother” and “The Voice,” has partnered with Eureka Productions for a US version of the reality competition. One hundred contestants will compete in quiz duels on a sprawling LED floor, with the goal of capturing the entire floor over 10 episodes, for a prize of $1 million.
NEW & RETURNING SERIES
Celebrity social experiment “The Surreal Life” will premiere on October 24 at 9p on VH1 with back-to-back episodes. Cast members include Dennis Rodman, August Alsina, Stormy Daniels, Frankie Muniz and more.
“American Masters: Groucho & Cavett” premieres December 27 at 8p on PBS. The doc chronicles the friendship between TV personality Dick Cavett and comedian Groucho Marx, who met at a funeral of the playwright George S. Kaufman in 1961.
“The Graham Norton Show” returns, red sofa and all, on October 7 at 11p. Among the guests this will be Jamie Lee Curtis, David Tennant, Monty Python’s Eric Idle, Lydia West and Robbie Williams.
“Rica, Famosa, Latina” returns on October 16 at 9p on EstrellaTV. The Spanish-language reality series is back for its sixth season after a four-year hiatus with a cast of six Latina women in Los Angeles and Mexico with a love for bubbles, Botox and bling.
Nickelodeon’s “The Really Loud House” will premiere on November 3 at 7p. The live-action comedy series based on the original Emmy-winning animated show follows 12 year old Lincoln Loud on adventures with his best friend, while navigating the chaos that comes with living with his ten sisters.

“Platforms matter.” So Bruno Heller, creator of “Pennyworth: The Origin of Batman’s Butler,” told Deadline about the show’s move from Epix to HBO Max. The show will attract a larger audience in its new home, noted Heller – and “Visibility and clarity [are] everything.”
Invincible Entertainment has acquired YTA Broadcast Network (formerly YouToo America). Invincible now owns and operates the largest groups of free ad-supported streaming television networks, with 18 channels including The Sonic Channel, Frightflix, Slopes TV and Business Rockstars.
Billy Porter will be this week’s guest on “The Amber Ruffin Show.” Ruffin’s take on the week’s news is executive produced by Ruffin, Jenny Hagel, Seth Meyers and Mike Shoemaker. New eps of season three of the Peacock talker start streaming every Friday at 10p.
SPORTS
A multi-year media rights extension between NBC Sports and Feld Motor Sports will see Peacock become the home of the Supercross and Pro Motocross series, including the newly-formed SuperMotocross World Championship. Spanning 31 races from Jan.-Oct. 2023, Peacock will present live coverage of all races, qualifying, and heats across both series. The 31 total races will mark a record for the combined number of Supercross and Pro Motocross events that NBC Sports will present in a single season. NBC, USA Network and CNBC will provide coverage of all races, including the SuperMotocross World Championship Playoffs and Final, throughout 2023 and beyond.
ESPN’s Monday Night Football Week 4 battle between the Rams and 49ers delivered an audience of 12.6 million viewers across ESPN, ESPN2, and ESPN Deportes, according to Nielsen and drove Monday Night Football with Peyton and Eli to its best audience of the season generating 1.6 million viewers. Additionally, ESPN won the night among both broadcast and cable networks.

– ESPN inked host and commentator Bomani Jones to a new contract extension. Jones will continue to lead his ESPN Podcast, The Right Time with Bomani Jones, make regular guest appearances across ESPN Radio’s sports talk programming and serve as a contributor across ESPN’s television studio lineup, including SportsCenter, First Take, Pardon the Interruption and more.
– Yahoo Sports expanded its editorial team and analyst lineup for football and basketball coverage this fall while Yahoo Fantasy Analyst Matt Harmon and Yahoo NBA Insider Vincent Goodwill inked new deals with the company. New faces include Jake Fischer (Senior NBA Insider), Dan Devine (Senior NBA Writer), – Dan Titus (Fantasy Analyst), Jori Epstein (Senior NFL Reporter) and Charles McDonald (NFL Writer).
– SiriusXM announced that Dave LaGreca, the lead host of Busted Open, signed a new multi-year extension with the company.
ESPN will carry the 2022 MLB Wild Card Series Presented by Hankook Tire from Friday through Sunday across ABC, ESPN and ESPN2, serving up to 12 games during the four best of three series. Coverage of the Wild Card Series will begin with four games on Friday at noon on ESPN as the Cleveland Guardians host the Tampa Bay Rays.
NBC Sports delivers live coverage of the women’s 2021 Rugby World Cup beginning this week with every match live on Peacock. CNBC will present encore coverage of each Team USA pool play match, a semifinals match, and the finals. On Friday, Peacock will begin its coverage of the five-week championship event, live streaming all matches and presenting more than 50 hours of live coverage from New Zealand.

Emma Caulfield Ford returns as Dottie in “WandaVisoion” spin-off “Agatha: Coven of Chaos.” The news of Ford’s role reprisal, along with her multiple sclerosis diagnosis, broke in Vanity Fair.
Lyle Lovett and Darius Rucker will guest star in ABC’s “Big Sky: Deadly Trails” season 3. The musicians will play an expert tracker (Lovett) and a hired gunman (Rucker).
“Obliterated” added 11 actors to its roster. Carl Lumbly, David Constabile, Costa Ronin, Lindsey Kraft, Tobias Jelinek and Minnie Mills will star in recurring roles, while Virginia Madsen, Lori Petty, Clive Standen, Ivan G’vera and Keston John will guest star.

Ireland’s Lighthouse Studios will develop “Savage Town.” Based on Marvel comic book artist Declan Shalvey and Philip Barrett’s graphic novel, the animated series will be loosely based on real events that took place in Ireland at the turn of the 21st century.
A drama series on the Nuremberg Trials is in the works. Constantin Film and Big Light Productions will develop the series centered on the prosecution of former Nazi officials in the aftermath of World War II. |
