NBCUniversal Syndication Studios’ new talk show, “Change with Ed Mylett,” has been sold as part of an exclusive deal with streaming site Nosey. The half-hour talker stars author, entrepreneur and inspirational speaker Ed Mylett. “We are committed to creating a wide breadth of content while broadening our distribution platforms and we are thrilled to work with our partners at Nosey on ‘Change with Ed Mylett,’” said Tracie Wilson, EVP, NBCUniversal Syndication Studios & E! News. “Change with Ed Mylett” is produced and distributed by NBCUniversal Syndication Studios and Stamford Media Center Productions.
The sale of “substantially all” of Black News Channel to Allen Media Group has been approved by a bankruptcy court. AMG is acquiring BNC for $11 million from billionaire Shahid Khan, who invested over $100 million in the network. “We are excited to have been selected to acquire the Black News Channel, which has approximately 300 million linear and digital subscribers,” said Byron Allen, Founder/Chairman/CEO of Allen Media Group. “Allen Media Group will deliver a best-in-class network to serve the underserved African-American community and the advertisers who want to reach this extremely valuable audience.”
“I Am a Killer” was renewed for season three by Netflix. The true crime series from Transistor Films interviews murderers in maximum security prisons. “At launch, ‘I Am a Killer’ quickly became a global phenomenon, and the team at Transistor have once again pushed the boundaries to deliver a series that continues to challenge and surprise our fans around the world,” said executive producer Danny Tipping.
E! has picked up an eighth season of “Botched.” The plastic surgery reality series will be back in 2023.
Evolution Digital and the National Cable Television Cooperative struck a new multi-year agreement that will continue to make Evolution Digital’s suite of broadband and Android TV products available to more than 700 independent service providers across the US. As part of the deal, NCTC’s member operators may access Evolution Digital’s OpenSync certified devices, which in combination with Plume’s SaaS Experience Platform enables service providers to deploy a new bundle of cloud-driven Smart Home Services.
GSTV, the video network at gas stations, has curated a slate of programming aimed at US Spanish-speaking audiences. Content includes the addition of a new content partner, kiwilimon, the largest Spanish-speaking digital food platform. The programming will launch in zip codes that index higher with Hispanic consumers.

Lifetime has greenlit new original movie “House of Chains,” inspired by the true story of a couple who imprisoned their six children within their home due to an intense religious ideology. Mena Suvari (“American Woman”) and Greyston Holt (“The Night Agent”) star in the film, set for a fall debut.

Home renovator and New Kid on the Block Jonathan Knight is back for a new season of HGTV’s “Farmhouse Fixer” on Wednesday, August 24 at 9p. Knight is joined by designer Kristina Crestin as they renovate old properties while keeping the original charm.
“South Park The 25th Anniversary Concert,” starring “South Park” co-creators Trey Parker & Matt Stone, Primus and Ween, will premiere on Comedy Central on Saturday, August 13 at 10p. The concert, featuring songs from the long-running series, celebrates the role music has played in the show since its debut 25 years ago. Primus and Ween will collaborate with their own songs in honor of their long-standing relationship with South Park.
Shout! Factory in collaboration with Candid Camera will debut the documentary feature “Mister Candid Camera” on August 2 across major digital streaming platforms. The movie traces the life and career of Allen Funt, and the release coincides with the 75th anniversary of Funt’s foray into hidden recordings with the “Candid Microphone” radio series.
Facebook is moving engineering and product support away from its Facebook News tab and newsletter Bulletin as “those teams focus on building a more robust Creator economy,” Campbell Brown, head of global news partnerships, told employees in a memo. “For a lot of us—this was a labor of love and I know it’s hard to see these products put on the backburner,” said Campbell. “These are products that have delivered tremendous value for our partners and our users.” The shift comes amid global regulations requiring technology platforms to pay for news content, and Meta’s focus on short-form video content and the metaverse.

Elysian Park Ventures and the PGA of America launched EP Golf Ventures, LLC, a new investment partnership designed to support innovation in the golf industry.
