UFC is pairing up with Snapchat through to showcase a slate of events via its ‘Live’ product. Fight fans at UFC event will receive access to unique experiences via photo and video Snaps to one collective, curated Snapchat Live Story. These Live Stories will then be available for Snapchatters globally to view for 24 hours following the event. The partnership launches with UFC 200 on July 9 and includes UFC 202 and UFC 205. “Collaborating with Snapchat gives us a great opportunity to align our partners with exciting live content that was previously not accessible to our fans,” UFC Executive Vice President of Global Marketing Partnerships Michael Mossholder said. “UFC continues to look for new ways to be at the forefront of media opportunities while continuing to put its fans first.”
Argentina’s win over the US in the Copa America Semifinal handed FS1 with 3,290,000 viewers on Tuesday. according to Nielsen, to rank as the network’s third most-watched soccer match and the most-watched men’s soccer match in the network’s history. Despite the blowout, the contest also set a record for FOX Sports GO as its most-viewed authenticated event in history with over 228,000 unique streamers, beating out the 2015 Women’s World Cup Final between the USA and Japan by 10%.
Former Golden Boy Promotions CEO Richard Schaefer is founding Ringstar Sports with plans to promote his first event later this summer, according to ESPN. Schaefer said he has already been licensed in New York, Texas and California with a license application working its way through the process in Nevada. "I am reactivating my deep relationships in the boxing industry with fighters, venues, networks, sponsors, managers and, of course, my friends in the media,” Schaefer told the site. “I will be in the coming weeks recruiting a seasoned team of executives from matchmakers to operational people, marketing and sponsorship professionals to join me at Ringstar to help maximize revenues for our athletes."

NBC Olympics lined up 15.5 hours of coverage of the US Olympic Swimming Trials starting Sunday, including eight consecutive nights in primetime on its channels. NBCSN opens it up at 6p, before NBC steps in at 8p. Overall, six nights of primetime coverage runs at 8p on NBC, will air at 8 p.m. ET/PT throughout the week on NBC leading into the July 3 two-hour show combining the Swimming and Track & Field Trials at 7p on the broadcast channel. p.m. ET/PT on NBC.
Speaking of the Olympics, the USSA announced its US Grand Prix stops at its annual partner summit for the 2016-17 season, including the first of five Olympic selection events for the 2018 Olympic Winter Games. The tour kicks off at Copper Mountain from Dec. 14-17 with halfpipe competitions for freeskiing and snowboarding and a big air snowboarding competition. Mammoth then takes the spotlight from Feb. 2-5, 2017, including the first Olympic selection events for men’s and women’s halfpipe skiing, slopestyle snowboarding and slopestyle skiing. A third U.S. Grand Prix event, featuring skicross and snowboardcross, is on the calendar for Jan. 19-22, with the location to be announced separately at a later date. This season, the organization boasts its largest TV schedule in history with over 50 hours of programming, including a record 20 hours on NBC,
NHL Network hits the NHL Draft today with on-site coverage through Saturday featuring Brian Boucher, EJ Hradek, Brian Lawton, Dave Reid, Jamison Coyle, Tony Luftman and Steve Mears. Programming begins today at 5p with a two-hour preview show, followed by an hour-long recap show after Round 1 is completed. On Saturday, Rounds 2-7 of the Draft will air on NHL Network starting at 10a. Coverage plans include four set locations at the First Niagara Center, one of which will include analysis from Sportsnet’s Elliotte Friedman and John Shannon.
CBS Sports Network sees live coverage of big wave surfing’s Puerto Escondido Challenge today at 10a and extending into tomorrow starting at 10:30a. Coverage will run both days until 1p, after which fans can continue watching on the WSL website and app.

The NFL and NFLPA are teaming with Cirque du Soleil for an league attraction set to take place in Times Square. The NFL Times Square experience will be housed as a 40,000 square feet, four-story exhibit, located on the corner of West 47th Street and 7thh Avenue at 20 Times Square with an opening in Fall of 2017. Content will include “an engaging blend of high-tech displays, as well as immersive and interactive elements” with fans able to test their skills as well as a 350-seat theater with a 20-minute show. “The NFL and Cirque du Soleil are two iconic global brands. We are pleased to team with this industry leader to set the new standard of excellence in sports and entertainment,” said NFL Chief Marketing Officer Dawn Hudson. “We are thrilled to re-imagine what it means to authentically engage with fans by providing them an immersive, innovative experience celebrating football and available year-round. We hope to bring fans of all ages and avidity into the huddle and give them an all-access pass to players and teams.”
Speaking of the NFL, Campbell’s Chunky locked in six NFL players for their 2016/17 campaign, “Everyman All-Star League.” The promotion will play up a role reversal of fantasy football, where six NFL players will serve as fantasy team GMs, “drafting average guys whose admirable talents and everyday victories range from grocery shopping to changing diapers.” Players will include Drew Brees, Odell Beckham Jr., Eddie Lacy, Todd Gurley, Eric Ebron, and Kyle Long.
Yesterday, customers on United flight 408 from Newark Liberty to Chicago O’Hare were shown the premiere of Destination: Team USA, a documentary produced by United Airlines and Tribeca Digital Studios. This film focuses on five athletes: Marathoner and 37-year-old single mom Andrea Duke; legally blind Paralympic judo wrestler Dartanyon Crockett; diver Abby Johnston; fencer Ibtihaj Muhammad; and boxer Cam F. Awesome. The film will be widely available for inflight viewing beginning July 1.
The New York Jets locked in a new multi-year partnership with Porsche Cars North America to serve as the official sports car and luxury vehicle of the team. The agreement marks Porsche’s first NFL partnership and first exclusive sports sponsorship in major US sports. Porsche will now be the presenting partner of the Jets Green Room and provide select Jets suite partners, premium season ticket holders and corporate partners the opportunity to participate in a unique driving experience in Porsche vehicles at a local track along with Jets personalities.
Major League Soccer debuted a new video slate entitled The Movement presented by AT&T. The 16-part series examines the growth of soccer culture in MLS and the North American soccer scene and will run across the league’s digital platforms. Episodes and hosted by Calen Carr and have already been shot with David Villa (NYCFC), Carmelo Anthony (New York Knicks) and Adrian Gonzalez (LA Dodgers).
Sports Illustrated Play is revving up to launch a new digital, mobile and social platform next month, according to parent company Time, offering “utility, content and social experience” for its community of about 10 million monthly users. The platform will look to assist youth sports administrators and coaches in managing activities, scheduling, as well as professional site creation and team/roster management.

ELeague will see its semifinals and championship featuring Counter-Strike Global Offensive wrap up its inaugural season at Cobb Energy Performing Arts Centre in Atlanta.
