Sprout has joined the TV Everywhere party. Three months into full ownership by NBCU, the net is joining a host of corporate siblings with the launch of the Sprout NOW app. The app gives authenticated subscribers access to its content online and via mobile devices. The Sprout NOW moniker derives its name from its sister Bravo NOW app. "Sprout was originally conceived as a multi-platform destination for preschoolers and their caregivers, and it’s always been a cornerstone of our strategy to ensure our series and content are available wherever families are," said Sprout pres Sandy Wax. The app is available for iOS devices; an Android version is planned for later this year.

The snowfall was light, but yesterday was still a Frozen day. ABC’s Good Morning America broadcast a live "nationwide sing-along" of the film’s song Let It Go, led by Broadway darling Idina Menzel, who voices Elsa in the movie. The Times Square event drew thousands, and included performances from soloists whose Frozen covers have viral YouTube followings. Also yesterday, the film’s soundtrack reclaimed the top spot on The Billboard 200 album chart, it’s fifth non-consecutive week. Frozen is now Disney’s best-selling soundtrack to an animated movie since The Lion King.

Nominees for the 2014 MTV Movie Awards will be announced Thursday, March 6 Categories include Best Kiss, Best Shirtless Performance and, yes, #WTF Moment. Fan voting takes place at www.MovieAwards.MTV.com; awards show airs Sunday, April 13, at 9p.

DreamWorks Animation reported 4Q sales of $204.3 million, down from $265.6 million, and profits of $17.2 million, up from a loss of $82.7 million during the same period last year. Notably, the studio said nearly a quarter of its revenue, 24%, last year came outside the film sales realm, a telling figure as the company continues its expansion into television, consumer products and live events. DWA sales came in at $706.9 million and profits at $55.1 million for 2013, compared to revenue of $749.8 million and a $36.4 million loss the prior year. 

Voting for the Radio Disney Music Awards begins Friday and runs through Sunday, April 6, at Disney.com/RDMA and via Radio Disney’s Facebook, Twitter and Instagram profiles, or by texting RDMA to Disney. Categories include XOXO-Best Crush Song, So FANtastic and So Happy  Best Song That Makes You Smile. Contenders include One Direction, Austin Mahone, Katy Perry, Justin Timberlake, Taylor Swift, Zendaya, Fifth Harmony, and Ariana Grande. Winners will be announced at a live event in LA on Saturday, April 26, and broadcast on Disney Channel Sunday, April 27 at 8p.

Get ready for another televised awards show. NBC will air the inaugural iHeartRadio Music Awards, in conjunction with Clear Channel, on May 1. The Ryan Seacrest Production will feature 13 awards categories across genres.

Couch potatoes no longer: The obesity rate among 2-5-year olds dropped 43% during the past decade, according to federal health survey. Among reasons to rejoice: New evidence shows a connection between kids who are overweight or obese at 3 to 5 years old and overweight adults. The research shows children now consume fewer calories from sugary beverages than they did in 1999; researchers also found a drop in overall calories for children in the past decade, down by 7% for boys and 4% for girls.

All those Snapchatting tweens and teens may just find themselves with a new virtual friend – McDonald’s. The chain is the latest in a swarm of companies to use the messaging service to hawk its brand. According to AdAge, McDonald’s enlisted basketball star Lebron James to help talk up its new account, albeit 10 seconds at a time.

Dannon is targeting Hispanic families with a new text-to-win campaign tied to The Lego Movie. The brand is offering consumers a chance to win a tour of the Warner Bros. studio with its line of Danimals Greek Yogurt Superstars, and is specifically being promoted in Southern California.
