PopSugar NewFront: May 1, 2014

PopSugar got sweeter with eight new original programs and 11 renewed series at its NewFront presentation at the Industria Superstudio. Over the next year, the media company, which targets women 18-40, will unveil new programs from NBC‘s Community Gillian Jacobs and Katherine Schwarzenegger (yep, Arnold and Maria’s daughter) as well as a partnership with MCN Above Average. Also notable:

  • PopSugar event specials: A new long-form series that will showcase broadcasts like Live Holiday Gift Guide or the Award Season Live Viewing Party.
  • Seriously Distracted: PS’s first scripted comedy series is produced with Above Average, and follows a group of women at the bottom rung of a New York PR firm. Also on the horizon are millennial relationship series #FullDisclosure, What now? With Katherine Schwarzenegger, inspired by her new book I Just Graduated…Now What?, and Five Things I’ve Always Wanted To Ask You, Mom which will feature a celebrities and their mothers, from former co-executive producer of The Oprah Show Lisa Erspamer.
  • A year-round digital content partnership with the Las Vegas culture-festival Life Is Beautiful, which presents 75 music acts, 60 chefs, 25 keynote speakers, 25 artists on 15 blocks in the city.
