Cynopsis: Kids!
04/16/09
Good morning. It’s Thursday, April 16, 2009, and this is your first early morning Kids briefing.
Kids Animation India (KAI), the publishing and merchandising arm of Spacetoon India, launches its first animated intellectual property Fafa & Juno. The property revolves around Fafa, an independent young girl, and Juno, a panda, and will feature stories that emphasize positive values. Ahead of the animated series, which is in pre-production with plans to launch in spring 2010, Spacetoon will promote Fafa & Juno through licensing, publication, merchandising, and events. Initially, Fafa & Juno books will be available in 31 titles across various categories. The merchandising products will include back to school, art sets, stationery, toys and home furnishing. A portion of KAI’s proceeds for Fafa & Juno will go to Nanhi Kali, an origination that promotes education for underprivileged girls in India.
The release date for Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince (HP6) is on the move again as Warner Bros. has shifts the HP6 release date to Wednesday, July 15, 2009 from Friday, July 17. The move should please Potter fans, a least a little, who have already waited an extra 8+ months for the movie, which had originally been set to release in November 21, 2008. The new Wednesday release date for HP6 shouldn’t come as much of a surprise, given that Warner Bros. released Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix (HP5) on Wednesday, July 11, 2007.
