Stranger Things happen in Emmy noms; series cleans up

The nominations are in for the 69th Primetime Emmy Awards, and NBC’s Saturday Night Live and freshman HBO series Westworld grabbed the most noms with 22 each. FX limited series Feud: Bette And Joan and Netflix best drama series nominee Stranger Things tied for the second most noms with 18 apiece. HBO’s Veep rounded out third with 17 nominations, including best comedy (which it took home last year). This year’s bumper crop features a strong showing from the broadcast and streaming realms alongside cable heavy-hitters. HBO leads networks with a total of 110 nominations, followed by Netflix with 91 and This Is Us-powered NBC (the drama garnered 11 noms), with 60. Past winners including Game of Thrones (HBO) and Orphan Black (BBC America) were MIA due to their late season debuts. Winners will be announced on Sunday, September 17 on CBS in an event hosted by Stephen Colbert. For a complete list of nominees, go here.
