Amazon Rolls Out News Service; Discovery Goes AVOD Across the Pond

Amazon rolled out its anticipated ad-supported news video service. The new service will be available on Fire TV devices and Fire tablets, and be fueled by content from publishers including Bloomberg, CBS News, Cheddar, Entertainment Weekly, Huffington Post, People, Reuters and Yahoo, among others.

Discovery is introducing its ad-funded streaming service Dplay in the UK and Ireland. Service will feature content from Discovery’s free-to-air portfolio of channels and will feature shows.
