Sinclair Broadcast Group is feathering its broadcast stations with The Nest, launching October 30. The network will deliver “comfort food programming,” including home-improvement, true-crime, factual reality series and celebrity-driven family shows. “We’re excited to bring this breadth of hit library series to add another layer to The Stack, Sinclair’s portfolio of linear networks featuring Comet, CHARGE! and TBD. The Nest couples the power and growth of free-to-consumer, over-the-air distribution with great content that viewers love. We’re confident the combination will deliver a premium experience for audiences and a great environment for advertisers,” said Scott Ehrlich, Chief Innovation Officer, Sinclair, Inc. The Nest replaces the Stadium network on stations across the country.
Jerry Seinfeld hinted “something is going to happen” with a “Seinfeld” revival. During his stand-up show in Boston this past weekend, Seinfeld said he had a “little secret” related to the series’ ending. “Just what you are thinking about, Larry [David] and I have also been thinking about, so you’ll see… You’ll see.”
John Cena could leave the WWE once the SAG-AFTRA strike finishes. “I’ve made it clear that you can’t do both because of the liability insurance,” said Cena at a press conference after “WWE Fastlane.” “If I were to try and juggle both, that’s very selfish because I would put a whole lot of people in the movie business out of work if something were to happen to me.”

Our partnership with iSpot helps facilitate that goal.”

SPORTS ROUNDUP
Barry Melrose is retiring as NHL analyst for ESPN after being diagnosed with Parkinson’s. “I’ve had over 50 extraordinary years playing, coaching and analyzing the world’s greatest game, hockey,” said Melrose, 67, in a statement. “It’s now time to hang up my skates and focus on my health, my family, including my supportive wife Cindy, and whatever comes next.” In a tribute posted on X, Wayne Gretzky said, “My friend Barry Melrose, he’s bigger than any team. For decades he’s been suiting up — and I mean suiting up — for the game, for the sport, for hockey. … You see, hockey is more than a game, it’s a community, a finely tuned orchestra, and Barry was our conductor.

TECH TALK
The DPAA Global Summit took place Tuesday at NYC’s Chelsea Piers, to a packed house galvanized by master of ceremonies/DPAA president and CEO Barry Frey and speakers including Tariq Hassan, Chief Marketing & Customer Experience Officer at McDonald’s; Kira Rich, Google’s AR/XR Product Marketing; Todd Kaplan, CMO of Pepsi, and more. One takeaway? “You can’t buy reach and relevance anymore,” said Mastercard’s VP of Global Media Traci Spiegelman. As it gets more and more difficult to reach a brand’s targets where they are, she noted, “Out of home is one of those channels that will stand the test of time.”

The global premiere for the new “Tom and Jerry” Singapore miniseries is set for October 21. All seven episodes will be globally available via the Cartoon Network Asia YouTube channel.
