Attain cable, satellite, telco and OTT subscriber growth in addition to driving free ad supported carriage and viewership. Deliver on beIN SPORTS network’s distribution and revenue goals through key national accounts across all platforms in accordance with company financial guidelines. The candidate is responsible for contributing to and supporting the marketing strategy and execution of marketing promotions and partnerships for the network in conjunction with our cable, satellite, telco, and pay and free multiplatform distribution partners as well as FTA multicast. Additionally, responsibilities include sales efforts with non-traditional carriers in the online, in-flight and commercial/hospitality space.
Establish and maintain relationships with System level and senior MSO staffs
Identify and direct marketing opportunities to ensure maximum revenue potential from accounts.
Evangelize programming updates to all partners in advance to maximize awareness of channels key properties and potential targeted initiatives.
Communicate competitive challenges to the VP of Business Development and Strategy, so that effective strategies may be developed.
Director must have deep understanding of legal process and knowledge of complex affiliate agreements, from the initial communication of business term sheet to client through the negotiation and execution stages in addition to core understanding of MFN liability tracking. All efforts must be with the help of legal staff.
Forecast sales goals and expenditures for senior management approval and operate the assigned accounts in accordance with goals.
Maintain an accurate account status for regular review by senior management.
Technical understanding of decoders and satellite signal transmission is necessary, as candidate will be charged with the coordination and execution of launches for each new affiliate partner in conjunction with our technical staff.
Support Director of marketing, as needed, in all affiliate marketing activities to the industry.
Work cross-functionally with various departments and individuals across the network to leverage all available tools at his/her disposal in order to develop partnerships.
Work with Programming to identify and develop tent-pole promotions and stunts in support of key programming initiatives in partnership with distributors
Manage internal creative requests with on-air design team.
Act as project manager for key promotional opportunities (free preview, barker partnerships, etc.) to grow awareness for beIN SPORTS.
Manage relationships with Electronic Programming Guide companies to make sure beIN SPORTS channels and Video On Demand is represented effectively in the EPG guides across in house applications, web, and 3rd party partner platforms.
Coordinate Video On Demand and TVE launches with affiliate partners and Director of Digital Media.
Superior analytical skills; ability to interpret research and develop meaningful conclusions and or recommendations.
Ability to merchandise key milestones and events for the channels to affiliate partners and targets.
Knowledge on the on air/television production process as well as a strong understanding of digital and interactive marketing tactics.
Solid contacts in US Multichannel industry
Strong knowledge of Nielsen ratings data
Ability to maintain and establish new Multichannel accounts
Solid understanding of PPV, VOD, AVOD, Free Ad Supported Linear, Programmatic ad sales and workflow, and core affiliate sales and marketing
Excellent presentation skills and ability to communicate effectively to diverse and varied audiences including promotional partners and clients.
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, but also able to multi-task in a fast-paced, dynamic team environment.
Strong leadership & interpersonal skills with the ability to influence change and manage deadlines and priorities across organizations.
Must possess Four Year Degree with commensurate sales experience, MBA preferred.
Minimum 5-10 years of experience in affiliate marketing or sales within entertainment and media, preferably at a cable TV network with established industry contacts. (CRITICAL)
Minimum 5-7 years CATV, PPV, VOD, and Free Adsupported Linear experience.
Knowledge of and passion for new media opportunities in the television space and programmatic advertising sales workflow.
High proficiency in MS Office, including Word, Excel (advanced modeling), Power Point including keynote.
Bilingual in English & Spanish preferred.
Ability to travel up to 50% of time
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE college degree required; MBA preferred; 7+ years related experience
