The highly-anticipated interview with Stormy Daniels, the adult film star who says she had an affair with Donald Trump, aired last night on CBS’s 60 Minutes. The segment looked at the potential ramifications of the $130,000 payment Trump attorney Michael Cohen says he made to Daniels using his own funds. Trump “knows I’m telling the truth,” Daniels told Anderson Cooper, who conducted the interview, Daniels’ first in which she spoke about the alleged affair. So why did she agree to deny the alleged relationship? “I was in a parking lot going to a fitness class with my infant daughter,” she told Cooper, “and a guy walked up on me and said to me, ‘Leave Trump alone. Forget the story.’ And he leaned round and looked at my daughter and said, ‘That’s a beautiful little girl, it would be a shame if something happened to her mom.” Daniels claimed she was lying when she signed statements saying she had never had an affair with Trump, and refused to say whether she had destroyed any evidence of her relationship with Trump.
