Telemundo struck a multi-year deal with Spanish-language superstar Mario Kreutzberger, aka Don Francisco, until six months ago host of Univision’s long-running variety show Sabado Gigante. The agreement includes the creation of a joint production company to develop and produce original content and formats for Hispanics in the U.S. and globally. Kreutzberger will also serve as a special senior news correspondent on Telemundo Network News. “We are very excited to have Mario Kreutzberger join the Telemundo family,” Cesar Conde, Chairman, NBCUniversal Telemundo Enterprises and NBCUniversal International Group, tells Cynopsis. “This partnership is one more sign of the investments we are making at NBCU Telemundo Enterprises to evolve our programming offering domestically and abroad, and continue to drive the profound change in the Spanish language media industry.”
