Telemundo Deportes and streaming services ESPN+ are ready to kick off coverage of Copa America as the second of soccer’s big three tournaments this summer launches June 14. The U.S. Spanish-language rights-holder begins its pregame coverage of the opening match between Bolivia and the host nation Brazil at 7p on broadcast network Telemundo, as well as the Telemundo Deportes En Vido and NBC Sports apps. The same platforms are in play during the first weekend of action of the CONMEBOL tournament, which features 10 South American nations and in this competition, Japan and 2022 FIFA World Cup host Qatar. Telemundo’s coverage continues Saturday beginning at 2:30 p, with Venezuela facing Peru and Lionel Messi’s Argentina squaring off against. James Rodriguez’s Colombia side. The opening weekend closes with two matches Sunday. starting at 2:30 p.: Paraguay vs.Qatar, which also won the Asian Cup, followed by the 15-time champion Uruguay facing Ecuador ESPN+, Walt Disney Co.’s service that has picked up more than 2 million subscribers since its launch in April 2018, will look to bring more customers into its streaming tent with its English-language presentations of all 26 matches. Fox Sports and Telemundo hold the rights to the Women’s World Cup, while the former and Univision Deportes will air the Gold Cup, kicking off June 15. The finals for all three tourneys are slated for July 7.
