Overwatch League is expected to announce its first round of expansion since season one concluded with the crowning of the London Spitfire as champions at the Grand Final last weekend. According to reports that include ESPN and Rod Breslau, Activision Blizzard has now sold an Atlanta expansion slot in the league to a group funded by Cox Enterprises, in addition to a slot based in Guangzhou, China and backed by the Nenking Group. Meanwhile, McCourt Global is finalizing negotiations to obtain regional rights to a team representing Paris. The league anticipates selling six expansion slots within the next month, with a focus outside of the United States.
