Morgan Freeman isn’t finished asking questions. Nat Geo is following up The Story of God with The Story of Us, due this October. “I’ve always been curious, some people call it nosey, but that is behind wanting to do this kind of material,” said Freeman at TCA. But he was clear that the experience traversing the world to explore themes including power, rebellion, freedom and love does not inform his choices of character portrayal in theatrical fiction. “With film, I grew up not seeing enough of me, not any of me. My own career was predicated on being able to see me, and that doesn’t cross over. It’s a completely different set of rules. Now what I’m getting the most joy out of is meeting all these different people and sitting down and having one-on-one conversation and saying, ‘Gee, I just talked to someone from the other side of the world, and they’re saying pretty much the same thing.’”
