The IOC is eyeballing April 2016 as the launch date for its upcoming Olympic TV channel, looking to gain traction just ahead of the Olympic games. According to the AP, Olympic Broadcasting Services CEO Yiannis Exarchos is bolstering staff to around 100 people to be based in Madrid to produce programs and features about Olympic athletes and sports. The network is also looking to lock in a return on its $600 million investment in 10 years. “It’s a pretty aggressive plan, it’s a pretty optimistic plan but we live in the Olympic world,” he said at the SportAccord convention in Sochi.
