Intel Extreme Masters laid out the expanse of its Olympic plans. After announcing earlier this month that it would launch IEM PyeongChang ahead of the Winter Games 2018, the event revealed that its StarCraft II stand-alone esports tournament will see a final event stationed in PyeongChang from Feb. 5-7. The action will see 16 players battle it out with $150,000 on the line and “the opportunity to be the first ever esports pros to step on a one-of-a-kind stage.” ESL and Intel will start the regional open qualifiers in Dec. leading to slots for two North American players, along with two from South America, one each from Africa, Asia west, China, Asia East and Australia/Oceania, two from South Korea and five from Europe.
