Two big announcements in the boxing world yesterday. FOX Sports formally unveiled its new multi-year deal to showcase Premier Boxing Champions. Through the deal, PBC will now serve as the exclusive boxing program for FOX Sports 1. Programming will be anchored by Toe-to-Toe Tuesdays, a new series that debuts on Sept. 8 at 9p on the channel and will offer a slate of 21 shows through the end of June, 2016. The fights are simulcast on FOX Deportes, under a series name to be determined soon. Brian Kenny hosts the show while FOX Deportes, will see Daniel Ponce de Leon join Samuel Jacobo to call the action.
Meanwhile, Floyd Mayweather announced what may be his last opponent in the ring, and will face Andre Berto on Sept. 12 at 8p from Las Vegas on Showtime PPV. The telecast will also include Roman “Rocky” Martinez/Orlando “Siri” Salido and Badou Jack “The Ripper”/“Saint” George Groves. SHOWTIME Sports will support the event with All Access.
