FOX Sports is revving up for the 58th running of the Daytona 500 on Feb. 21 with a rolling marketing campaign targeting the social aspect of celebrating the race with family and friends. The campaign features a “Happy Daytona Day” anthem that premiered on Sunday, while an LA “Police Chase” spot featuring company rookie Jeff Gordon and The Simpsons celebrating Daytona Day are also on the schedule. “Not unlike the phenomenon surrounding events like the Super Bowl and the Kentucky Derby, the Daytona 500 and its fans have their own set of rituals and traditions for the opening race of the NASCAR season,” said Robert Gottlieb, EVP of Marketing for FOX Sports. “We saw this as an opportunity to amplify that atmosphere to a whole new level.”
