Former New York Yankee Derek Jeter is no longer the captain of The Players’ Tribune.

Derek Jeter’s first-person forum for athletes has a new owner. Minute Media has acquired The Players’ Tribune, which Jeter launched in 2014, following his retirement from the New York Yankees. The transaction is subject to customary closing conditions and is expected to be consummated by year-end. The Players’ Tribune joins Minute Media’s stable that includes 90min, 12up, DBLTAP, Mental Floss and The Big Lead. Based in Israel, the company will provide enhanced technology, infrastructure and global reach to stoke future growth for The Players’ Tribune. Jeter will continue to be directly involved as the platforms’ founder and a member Minute Media’s board of directors. “When we led this category of athlete-driven stories five years ago, we couldn’t imagine The Players’ Tribune would transform the landscape the way it did. We’re looking forward to continuing to give athletes a voice — around the world,” Jeter said in a statement.
