Fandango has bought the largest movie trailer and content YouTube network, ZEFR’s Movieclips. Movieclips consists of 25 YT channels with seven million subs and averages 200 million monthly views. “The acquisition opens up us to deliver electronic movie ticketing to a larger audience,” Paul Yanover told Cynopsis. Fandango is also unfurling a new Twitter Card feature that allows moviegoers to view information about upcoming films and link to ticketing directly in a tweet. The first flicks to use it will be The Amazing Spider-Man 2 and Godzilla. “Mobile is our business, and Twitter is an environment in which movie fans talk about the films they love, and where actors and directors talk about their work,” said Yanover. “So Twitter’s a great setting to streamline this activity.”
