Facebook may be going through a stretch of very bad publicity, but its business is still in fine shape. The company’s Q3 progress report smashed Wall Street’s expectations. Facebook grew its base of daily active users to 1.37 billion, a 50 million-user increase over Q2. The platform also had 2.07 billion monthly active users, up from 2.01 billion last quarter. Revenue for the quarter was $10.33 billion, surpassing analysts’ prediction of $9.84 billion. The company’s earnings-per-share sat it $1.59, a whopping 77% percent increase over last year’s third quarter. Wall Street had predicted earnings-per-share of $1.28. The company’s net income for Q3 was $4.7 billion. Facebook’s stock hit a record high of $182.69 in regular trading; by after-hours trading, they were up under one percent, hitting $184.
