Look for key esports activations this weekend at two legendary sports events, with NBA All-Star festivities and Daytona 500 action both sporting gaming elements. On the NBA front, ELEAGUE partnered with 2K and the National Basketball Players Association to offer fans a tournament featuring NBA 2K Playgrounds 2 that will feature Shaquille O’Neal, Baron Davis, Karl-Anthony Towns, Kyle Kuzma, Trae Young & Jaren Jackson Jr. as competitors. Play will be live streamed from The Underground at Charlotte’s Music Factory, beginning Feb. 15, at 2p on ELEAGUE’s Twitch channel, ELEAGUE.com and B/R Live. TBS will then televise an hour-long feature show highlighting the tournament’s most exciting parts later that evening, beginning at 11:30p.
Down south in Daytona, the 2019 eNASCAR Peak Antifreeze iRacing Series got underway earlier this week, but a partnership between 704Games, Race Team Alliance teams, and JR Motorsports, will see the launch of a decal program promoting the Pro League with a call to action to drive fans to NASCARHEAT.com. The decal will be run on both sides of each participating Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series racecar.
