Empire was the big winner at the TCA Awards on Saturday, taking home the trophy for Program of the Year. “Critics don’t like me,” said the Fox drama’s co-creator Lee Daniels. “They never do…this means so much to me.” Amy Schumer won for Individual Achievement in Comedy, while Comedy Central’s Inside Amy Schumer nabbed the big comedy program award. (“Amy wanted to be here, but unfortunately she couldn’t,” said Inside writer Christine Nangle, accepting on her behalf. “She’s being treated for overexposure.”) Mad Men’s Jon Hamm, AMC’s Better Call Saul, FX’s The Americans, Starz’ The Chair and ABC Family’s The Fosters were also honored.
