The streaming network competition heated up yesterday with the Emmy nom announcement. Netflix reeled in 34 nods, while Amazon took 12. House of Cards led series with with 11; Orange Is the New Black, Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt, Daredevil, Bloodline, Grace and Frankie, Marco Polo, Derek, Virunga, Hot Girls Wanted, and Chef’s Table each scored at least one. Transparent was recognized for Best Comedy Series, Lead Actor in a Comedy Series for Jeffrey Tambor and Supporting Actress for Gaby Hoffmann.
British streaming network Acorn TV landed an Emmy nomination for Outstanding Television Movie for Agatha Christie’s Poirot: Curtain, Poirot’s Last Case. It’s the first niche streamer to receive a nod.
