A fresh batch of family-friendly content is headed to the pipeline from a new studio writer/producer Dan Angel (R.L. Stine’s The Haunting Hour, Goosebumps) and TV industry vet Tom Mazza just formed with Larrikin Entertainment. EveryWhere Studios will develop cross-platform programming geared to gathering mom, dad and kids around the TV and the tablet. Angel is serving as chief creative officer, while Mazza, who was most recently co-head of Shaftesbury U.S., is CEO. “There are not enough co-viewing options in the current marketplace for those looking for family entertainment. We see opportunities for families to be able to have programming that’s more 8 o’clock than 10 o’clock,” Mazza tells CynKids, noting broadcast, cable and digital distributors “are going to need more of this kind of content.” Says Angel, “Live-action scripted, movies, animation–for both primetime and the 6-12p range” are all under consideration. The one kids area the team won’t be focusing on is preschool. Based in LA, EveryWhere’s management ranks also include VP of development Lori Nelson, formerly of The Hatchery. The studio’s first production and distribution deal is currently in development and will be announced in the coming weeks.
