ESPN announced plans for Champ Week featuring coverage during a record-171 men’s college basketball conference tournament games running across ESPN, ESPN2, ESPNU, ESPNEWS, SEC Network and ESPN3 starting today and running through March 12, a tripleheader on March 11 that will feature title games from the Big 12 (6p), ACC (9p) and Pac-12 (11p). Today will see four America East quarterfinal games on ESPN3. The schedule includes a total of 336 men’s and women’s basketball games – including 297 exclusive contests. College GameDay Covered by State Farm will originate from the New York Life ACC Basketball Tournament in Brooklyn on March 11 on ESPN at noon with on-site studio coverage also present at the Big 12 and SEC tournaments.
In women’s basketball, ESPN announced that its 2017 Champ Week will see a record 165 women’s basketball games with more than 20 conferences playing on television and digital platforms. Five conference champions to be crowned on ESPN2, including our champions will punch their ticket to the NCAA Women’s Championship on Sunday, March 5. Analyst Andy Katz will join host Chris Cotter on March 4, for the ACC Women’s Basketball Tournament semifinal while host Maria Taylor and analysts Rebecca Lobo and Andy Landers will be joined by Charlie Creme for coverage of several tournaments on ESPN2, including the AAC, ACC, SEC, and Pac-12.
Additional Champ Week coverage through “ESPN3 Surround” – a second-screen initiative – will offer an alternative viewing experience to the traditional telecast with different camera angles and audio – on all games on ESPN networks from the ACC, American, Big Ten, Big 12, Pac-12 and SEC.
