The Supreme Court decided against the online broadcast streaming service Aereo today, declaring it infringed broadcast network’s copyrights. In a 6-3 opinion, the court struck down Aereo on grounds that it does not “constitute a public performance” in order to surpass copyright violation for streaming broadcast signals without permission (and for a price). The case began on April 22, with major networks like CBS, Disney, Fox and NBCUniversal opposing the service. Read the court’s opinion here.
